Dave Mustaine is exactly what I think of for this topic.
I love Megadeth's music but his singing is god awful.

Patterson Hood is pretty terrible.. but he makes it work somehow

Let’s be honest, most of us like the Stones, but Mick can’t sing. Surprised no one has said it yet - I guess out of reverence for the Stones.

Not that I agree with this opinion but in a band where Keith Richards is your second choice for vocalist how good do you have to be?

His voice definitely fits with DBT and his solo stuff.. I'm not sure it would work with any other type of band. The one that sticks out for me is "I Do Believe" from Go-Go Boots (I think?).. he should've just kept that one for the B-sides

Actually, Jagger’s vocals are perfect for the band.

I agree about Axl Rose and Eddie Vedder but it somehow works.
Most underrated is Anthony Kiedis

As being a terrible singer? I'm a Frusciante fanboy, Flea is an extremely talented bassist, and Chad Smith is a solid drummer, but I just can't enjoy RHCP because of how terrible Kiedis is. It doesn't help that he's an inflated asshat.

Robert Lamm with Chicago. I assume they fix his vocals in the studio but live is pretty bad.

Axl Rose has one of the best vocal ranges in popular music history. It is literally on par with the likes of Mariah Carey.
Eddie Vedder not so much.

So what's the one song?
I'll agree that JI>MC>PH, but there are plenty of PH songs I like.

Patterson Hood is a perfect example of a bad singer. Meaning he can’t carry a note, sings out of time and has terrible range. He squeals and croaks his way through every song he attempts to sing.
