I love Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Sublime, Alice in Chains, etc...but I've been listening to RnB and rap for the last decade because most of my favorite rock bands are old and not releasing albums.

Ty Segall/Fuzz/The Epsilons/Hair
HUM (if you never got into them)
Flaming Lips (everyone should hear at least The Soft Bulletin)

Shiner if you never heard of them.

They aren't making music anymore.

some good ones listed already but heres some others:

Marcy Placyground
Feeder
OLP
Live
Days of the New
Meat Puppets
Collective Soul
Some hate but 311 albums in the 90s were awesome.

Some of these you probably already know but 90s rock definitely hits home for me. Last great decade of true alternative rock IMO, so many good bands. Early 2000s rock was great as well.

Try the album Brothers by the Black Keys. It's solid.

Room on Fire by The Strokes is also a pretty awesome album.

This was the "below the radar" band of the 1990s.

I learned abotu Built to Spill from this board and would highly recommend. Keep it Like a Secret and Perfect From now On are their 2 major works (both in the 90s) and they are both incredible.
