Yea I downloaded that album a week or so ago, gave it one listen and thought it was ok but nothing special

Then I watched them rage Coachella and was pretty blown away and listened to it a few more times, and now it's become one of my favorite indie pop albums in a while. Herring, the lead singer, is a breath of fresh air in all this shitty tight arse pretentious indie world we live in.

I just wanted to do this post cause I was just listening to A Song for our Grandfathers on the way from my buddys house just now. Really really awesome song.

I'm down as a motherfricker. I've been wanting to go for a long time now. It's the best US festival imo

Hopefully we'll get a heady Daft Punk set for it

I a tooted a fat sack with a girl you went to high school over mardi gras from georgia, initials: MG. She said she thought you were the bees knees.

i think we should fly into coachella and rent a super fuel efficient prius and get mad bluntz at venice beach for the drive

haha nice. I haven't seen that girl in while. Good to know she still parties hard.

I'm not much of a toker anymore but I like the gameplan. I'll need to get my tolerance back up so I can keep up.

We can get blitzed and listen to 35 minute Mr Dons at maximum volume

I'm seriously serious about it. It always pulls an awesome lineup. So what were the highlights of coachella of what you saw on the stream? I didn't watch it.

I never think of coachella as a drug festival. I'll probably just get some molly and caffeine pills and rage. The people will probably suck too since its socal

Yea I got way too fricked up Friday night and just sat around hungover all Saturday and watched. Jagwar Ma was one of the better ones. Just a dance party. Arcade Fire was ridiculous. Darkside was a mind frick. Like I said earlier Future Islands was awesome just because the lead singer has insane energy on stage. Disclosure put all the other shitty house djs to shame. A bunch of other stuff too.

The lineup is just awesome. Even if you're not the biggest indie guy in the world, which I'm not really, there is something there for everybody. And lots of big names.

It's not really. I mean I'm sure they're there just cause of all the electronic music, but there are zero heady crunchy brahs. Not that scene at all. Which can be a good thing imo

The crowds do kind of suck. Lots of indie kids too cool to dance.

Yea and I mean all that shite I said was just from the video I saw. I could maybe be way off on all that stuff about the scene.

I went to sasquatch with andre. It's similar to coachella. Whitest most vanilla hipster crowd. I loved it. Those people are fricking clean and civilized and the porta johns smelled great (me and blue velvet both jacked off in them to all the hot hipster chicks waiting to use them). Not a bunch of dirty cracked lot wooks. It was challenging finding drugs but they were there

its growing on me. So is war on drugs.

That men album though is fricking top notch.

Oh, and re: coachella. Its totally a drug festival, its not burning man but there is a shite ton of drugs going down. The thing is its so much of LA kids, and they can't be seen doing anything strange or weird so they keep it in check.

I personally like shows sober or just a little high.

I'm just now listening to The War On Drugs - it's pretty good.

So far, I like

Hard Working Americans
Johnny Cash - Out Among The Stars (it really surprised me)
The Hold Steady - Teeth Dreams

I'm really looking forward to Jack White and Tom Petty's new ones.
