According to Far Out Magazine
Far Out Article

2112 – Rush

Rumours – Fleetwood Mac

Who’s Next – The Who

Born to Run – Bruce Springsteen

The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars – David Bowie

Ramones – Ramones

Van Halen – Van Halen

Black Sabbath – Black Sabbath

Led Zeppelin IV – Led Zeppelin

Dark Side of the Moon – Pink Floyd

Do you agree with this list?
What would you change?

For me being someone born in the mid ish 70’s. The band I love the most from 70’s is Fleetwood Mac. Favorite Album would be Rumours. So I definitely agree with that. I like Led Zeppelin, the Ramones and Bowie. Everything else on the list sadly I never really got into only knowing a few songs from each.
The one change I would make is replacing Bruce with an Eagles album

wouldn't change anything although Boston's first and London Calling would deserve to be on it.

and Aja. (is that rock?)

Boston is a big one. So many recording techniques were pioneered on that album. It’s an absolute masterpiece and a landmark album in recording history.

Solid list. Rumours deserves to be on any ‘best’ list but does seem oddly out of place with the others listed. It was definitely more produced and refined than anything else on there.

Agree with other comments about Boston. Never really a favorite of mine but you can’t deny the popularity and impact of that record.

I would add Frampton Comes Alive.

Not sure if you consider Saturday Night Fever rock…but that album was a monster too

I love Rumours but what exactly did it change? Same with Born to Run. No Clash, Talking Heads, Kraftwerk, Can?

Besides showing that guys with no talent could be rock stars, what did the Ramones change? Maybe sub the Stooges for a punk entry?

I agree with you here. It is a great album but it was not innovative as far as I can tell though I am no music expert.

In my opinion, based on what I like, the Ramones are not very good and the album was not really good musically to me. But it was different and sparked or at least heralded the growth of a genre of music. Kind of the counter to Rumors for me, I don't like it but it belongs on this sort of list.

It was more about pushing it over into mainstream thought. This is coming from a person who thinks the Ramones were talentless hacks.

“At Fillmore East” by the Allman Brothers Band certainly opened up the door for Southern rock and deserves to be on the list

I think a lot of people will disagree, but if we’re talking 1970’s, I think the debut album from KISS belongs on that list.

Solid list. Though I would have replaced Bowie w/Hell Freezes Over. Aside from that I don't have any issues.

Pretty much one of the first punk bands although they’d be probably would be closer to pop punk than punk if they came out today

Probably should be an ELO or Roxy Music album on that list.

A lot. But more than the bands that they influenced, they influenced listeners more.
