Yeah, I’m counting eight villains, though I doubt some like Harvey Dent will be villains in this one.
Having that many in the first movie of a series just sounds like a bad idea.

The fact that they already have Catwoman starring "opposite" of Batman tells you all you need to know about the direction of this film.
It's a new start. They should be focusing on building up Batman first and foremost and then introducing more characters in subsequent films.

If this movie is anything like Arkham Knight then its definitely not an origin and all the villains work well in it.

Similar to Spider-Man it’s just so unnecessary to have to go thru the same Origin just because it’s the first one. Everyone knows the story, just give me good and unique stories and good acting and it’ll work

The last Batman origin story we had was Begins back in 2005.
Showing a scene of Bruce's parents being killed doesn't constitute an origin story.

If the rumors are true it’s more of a “whodunit” storyline. Actually shows Batman’s detective skills, which alway seems to go to the sideline in the films

If that cast list is true, this is 100% The Long Halloween. Makes too much sense with the characters supposedly in the movie and comments from those involved(Batman using detective skills to stop a killer, a younger less experienced Batman, Arkham).
