Yes, it's all pandering. All day, every day.

And it pays. Let it go.
"Hollywood" knows what it's doing. There's no moral compass or social conscience out there. It's all money driven and everytime we see a tranny actor in a big action movie or some homo super hero or a black actor in an historically white role or whatever else. It's because millions in market research and focus group studies told them it's what people want.
So all of you out there hanging on to some desperate fantasy or hope that it will backlash, well give that shite up now. It hasn't and it won't. The pandering will continue because it pays. Everything we see in mainstream entertainment is there because it's been studied.
So when marvel coughs up some homo super hero or netflix hires a black actor to portray Achilles (one of our more egregious pandering moments) just know "hollywood" knows you don't care enough to miss it or they know you want it.

If you think "Hollywood" is collectively some kind of logical think tank, you are mistaken. Do you think market research determined the public really wanted an all female ghostbusters? they work when they can be tied to other non sjw movies.

I don't care enough to name five examples. But isn't there some proud tranny who recently got alot of press because she's gonna be in a spiderman movie or some shite?

The pandering examples that quickly pop into my head have failed pretty badly.

With that said, I don't care if someone that isn't white is cast, as long as it's a new idea. Re-doing already established characters pisses me off.

And that's sorta what we're talking about. Obviously the vast majority of people don't care enough to miss the movie or show in question or they actually want that "re-do". We know this because it's paying off.
