I think Adam is Javi. We're starting to see Young Javi interact more with Teen Shauna, so I think it's inevtiable that Young Javi develops a crush on her. Plus, Young Javi is artistic and Adam claims to be some sort of artist as well.

So, does the group of girls in the woods eat the wolf Taissa just killed, or...do they eat Van!?

And I wonder at what point in the night Taissa took the deer vertebra from Van? Also, was the red explosion Lottie saw in her vision the flare gun shot?

If that’s the twist coming, this will be the ground work they’ve begun to lay for it, and the time he asked her about her diary/journal. He could have read her journal as well.

Still think it’s dumb that she wouldn’t recognize him, and it would also lead to assumptions about his fate in the woods and whether she knew about said fate.

She said “a river of blood and red smoke,” right? Flare was fired in the fog.

Agreed!

Thank you! Must have been the flare gun.

I still can't believe this was pitched as a five-season story arc. I imagine we're going to get some really annoying cliffhangers over the next three episodes

Javi and his brother are Hispanic right? Javi’s complexion and Adam’s are totally different unless he had some serious work done.

ETA: I need to rewatch that episode I had a few too many and there was a lot to unpack in that episode.

Good episode

The funeral pyre was intense

And we get the explanation of Tai sleepwalking and confirming that she’s the woman in the window .

Jackie just starting shite tonight. I guess she wants to stir some trouble up with Shaunna and then with Natalie

Shaunna finally realizing Adam is a con artist/out for money and exploiting her
Then the plane .. about what I expected

Poor Laura Lee

So Adam is the glitter bandit, but I still think the husband stole the diaries and sold them.

Also went back and rewatched the first scene of the show and it really doesn't look like Jackie (even though the victim is wearing Jackie's necklace). But that scene must take place pretty long after where we currently are, so I guess it's possible she looks different by then

I think I’m through episode 7 so far. I’m liking the show but agree with some who have said it feels like I t’s dragging a bit. Also agree that the wilderness scenes are MUCH better than the current ones, but that’s to be expected I guess.

I think I’ve read the thread up through discussion on my current episode. I hope to watch the last one (maybe two) tonight and join in the speculation this week. But so far it’s a very interesting show.

Yeah I love how their first instinct is to set her on fire. I liked the episode but the mystery and suspense is starting to piss me off. Also, I think the Adam guy is the glitter bomber, but wouldn't the husband have the potential to be in the closet too? However, how tf would Adam know the combo.

Also, Laura Lee was unexpected but as soon as she mentioned flying I knew it was going to happen, so the woods wouldn't let her leave and set the bear on fire? I wonder why Tai hasn't told them that the reporter lady was hired by her.

ETA: "there's no queens in that deck" was such an interesting line. I feel like that has some sort of significance. (Maybe foreshadowing Laura Lee's imminent death as she was the most "innocent" or "wholesome" character we have seen as the viewer). I'm starting to think Jackie is going to bang Travis and that she is going to go on a Machiavellian campaign and somehow end up putting two groups against each other, and possibly is still alive and the one who sent the post cards. Idk, then again Van seems to never die, and the whole going to see Cats in NY for her birthday, and cats having 9 lives things might be something.

@Sloth, you think for sure Adam was the glitter bandit? Didn't Shauna throw Jeff's close in the closet. IRL, I have no idea, but I would imagine those little digital safes might not be the hardest thing to break into, however it could be Jeff, Callie, or even Tai realizing that her friend is making a terrible mistake being so trusting of this new guy "Adam" and somehow got it out as a preemptive measure.

A lot of interesting points you raise. The "queens in the deck" thing was an interesting line. In re: to Laura Lee, it seems like maybe the plane explosion is what Lottie saw when Laura Lee baptized her.

Jackie is really pissing off a lot of people Can't wait until she reveals to Shauna that she knows Jeff is the father of the baby.

Okay, so last week I was certain that Adam was Javi, but this week, Adam was pretty quick with his answers when talking about his upbringing. However, I could have sworn I saw little animal sculptures/carvings under one of the posters in his apartment. Similar to the carving Javi did in the woods.

Also, if Adam is Javi, then it'd make sense that he'd know about the symbol that was sent via text by the blackmailer.

I don't think the blackmailer is the same person that's sending the postcards. I think those are two separate plotlines. Not sure what everyone else here thinks about that?

So, I still think Adam is the glitter bandit, but it is suspicious that right after the blackmailer got $50k, Jeff went out and bought Shauna an expensive dress for the reunion or whatever (of course, he could have gotten money from selling Shauna's journals as well )

I wonder what Adult Misty's plan is with Jessica. Like, what's the endgame there?

Yeah, I'm torn on Adam/Javi or Jeff being the blackmailer. I don't think Jeff is cheating though, and might possibly be working together. However, the sak's fifth avenue dress thing was definitely meant to create more confusion about who the blackmailer is, as they both have been/had clothes in the closet.

As for Misty, I thought for a second she would let her go, but yeah I feel like if that lady could be trusted and Tai made it known that she was on her side (obviously she knows something not good happened if she hired her to find out if anyone "would talk about 'the bad things that happened'" then she could potentially help, assuming she didn't run to the cops about Misty. Still don't get why Tai is keeping that secret. Misty doing the coke scene and the parrot was great.

Jackie is clearly a bitch, both intentionally and unintentionally, despite the image she likes to portray.

The Shauna stuff was purposeful to turn the screws on her since reading the journal. The Natalie/Travis stuff was just venting and feeling superior to Nat because she’s loose, while trying to potentially get in good with Travis for the rebound, and accidentally happened upon a sore spot for Travis.

She really hasn’t brought much value to the group out in the woods, which is something she’s not used to. I wonder if she’ll do more lashing out.

It’s pretty clear they want us and Shauna to suspect Adam as taking the diaries, and he is shady, but at this point it could have been Adam or Jeff to leave the glitter behind.

What if Jeff, in addition to plotting something monetarily for the diaries, is also setting the girls up for some big reveal at the upcoming high school reunion as some sort of vengeance for what they did?

The relationship between Shauna and her daughter continues to be interesting and hostile.

Misty is still a psycho, but seems to be becoming a more sympathetic psycho. Ricci has done really well with the role.

Cannot believe how much they drag this show out. It is done so well in parts.

The airplane thing? For fricks sake. That was this show's jumping the shark moment.

We are all going to be disappointed. Its too far in the season to ever get down the cannibal path. We will have closure on the 50k ransomed guy, and Shauna/Jackie drama. Jeff finds out about affair, etc.

That is an interesting theory. I agree with the above post. We are so far in with two episodes left, we are a "ways away from winter in those woods."

She really has. She's also noticeably way younger than the rest of the cast, especially Juliette Lewis, which is distracting given that they are all supposed to be the same age.

I would like this show a lot more as a 1 season mini-series. It's dragging now and don't really feel like spending 3-5 years watching this to get resolution.

Lewis is the most egregious one as far as age gap is concerned, but I guess it kind of works for her character being an addict.

Lewis born in 1973.
Cypress born in 1976.
Lynskey born in 1977.
Ricci bien in 1980.

All of them, outside of Lewis, could have actually been in high school in 1995.

random thoughts....

what if shauna's husband is the glitter guy? (sorry if someone already said that).

and Lewis looks like a drag queen. when she was jumping around the hotel room in her nightgown it reminded me of the tuck scene in silence of the lambs.

Haha. She does have very narrow hips, and has lost much of whatever attractiveness she used to have.

I don't think it was clear why the bear caught on fire. Could've been something supernatural, just something wrong with the plane, or something that one of the other girls planned on purpose.

I agree, that had to be either metaphorical foreshadowing or a clue about something that happened previously.
