I suppose there isn’t really any harm in posting a theory. Basically the thought is that they might all be suffering from mercury or lead poisoning, which is causing the delirium/hallucinations. I don’t recall what actually spurred the theory in the first place but it goes back to season 1 IIRC.
Now that they are almost all experiencing hallucinations in one way or another, it lends some credence. But that can also be explained by hunger/malnourishment, and one of the girls (maybe Van?) actually said it was because of hunger during this week’s episode. So nothing concrete by any means.

This would make sense, but in season 1 when they arrive at the cabin, don't they throw out all the canned food because when Jackie open a can she notices it is rancid?

I think the idea is that the water and/or land are contaminated with mercury, possibly from an abandoned (and possibly illicit) mining operation.
It dates back to the red river that they found in season 1. The theory was that some sort of mining runoff could have caused the color. That theory expanded to mercury specifically because cinnabar (mercury sulfide) is red, has apparently been mined in Canada, and is associated with nearby hot springs.
Mercury bioaccumulates so the symptoms would get worse each time they are exposed. Additionally, cannibalism would presumably make it worse as you’re increasing the concentration in the remaining survivors’ bodies every time they eat someone. It could also explain the lack of wildlife in the area.
Again I’m not sure if I buy it, but it’s certainly an interesting theory. Especially now that we have confirmation that Javi had been living in a tunnel/cave/whatever while he was missing.

So their definitely in canada? I've wondered occasionally where the hell are they since they were going to nationals i just assumed that meant somewhere in the US.

Yeah they are definitely in the Canadian wilderness. Their plane was headed to Seattle from New Jersey. In the first episode, the pilot says their route is going to go further north than normal to avoid a storm or something.

I thought in season one the Canadian Rockies were mentioned as to where they were.

There were some other “support” for the theory like the symbol has some roots in alchemy for mercury and the bear acting all weird. Think when Javi went missing it added credence to the mine theory. Presumably this week we will get answers if what Javi and Ben found in the tree is a mine or not.

Oh wow, that's a really interesting theory. Thanks for providing more info!

Finale is now available.

Spoilers
Just started watching the finale, but would he have really bled out like that when she slit his throat, being that his body was frozen?

I liked it. Didn't see it going down like that. Coach Ben chilling in the mines. Now another 2 years until more answers.

Do you think the "Wilderness" started the fire or maybe Ben started the fire after he was spying on them making Nat their leader

Initially Ben because he grabbed the matches was obviously over it all. However, as Lottie says in the adult timeline about all of it being them or the wilderness "what does it matter?" I suppose it could be postulated that Ben did it, the wilderness did it through Ben, or the wilderness just caused it without Ben.
TLDR: I think in all likelihood Ben set it off.

It seems like the creators want us to think Ben started the fire, so that means it probably wasn't him
Other random thoughts:
-Loved this exchange:
Jeff: “We could never eat our favorite takeout or even Google ourselves ever again.”
Callie: “Do you google yourself a lot?”
-Really glad the creators are brave enough to kill main characters (e.g., Jackie and Adult Nat). If all the characters have plot armor, there are no stakes.
-Curious what direction they go in with the adults for Season 3. Seems like the Adam storyline is just about wrapped up, so now what?

Saw some interesting theories that sleepwalking Tai could have started it.
Also, that the pit girl theoretically could be in the current timeline given how quick everyone went back into kill mode. IF they start getting caught up in all that again (but I think that is farfetched.
I keep seeing little remarks online that Juliette Lewis wanted out of the role, which who knows but I didn't that coming. Nothing will use The Killing Moon as effectively as Donnie Darko imo, but I think the cover and the original later was pretty well done.

That's interesting, I wonder why.

Agree, 1000%.

Zero clue and I just kept seeing it in comments and in a few of the theory channels (so you know it has to be TRUE right ).
I just mentioned it because I thought she was so great in it and young Nat being crowned antler queen basically right when we find out how and when she dies in the current timeline threw me off. (I dont think it's fatal to the show).
I loved the finale but I think there should have been ten episodes to go into van's wishy-washiness and her and Tai a little more and Walter and Misty (hell along with Nat, she was basically filmed all her scene in probably a week at the Lottie compound in the same purple outfit).
Season 3's been green lit, so let the theories commence. Sloth long term what are yours?

It is the coping mechanism by the lesbians on Reddit because their crush got killed off. They are absolutely devastated by the finale, and have completely changed their tune on the series since Thursday.
Natalie dying is actually perfectly logical. Her arch is complete as a character. Her whole adult life is been learning how to forgive herself, and you see her tell Lisa about forgiveness. Her last act was an act of selflessness saving a person who kidnapped her.
One of the six had to die, and she’s the most logical choice. Shauna has too much to wrap up with her family. Tai has dark Tai. Misty has the whole serial killer thing and Walter. Lottie has the cult. Van has cancer and it’s pretty easy to see the next part of the adult plot will be her cancer being gone.
Just in the framework of the story Nat dying makes sense in other ways. The first hunt she’s saved by someone else dying, and she dies in the last hunt in place of someone else. It made it all the more ironic that it was Shauna she saved from the hunt considering how much Shauna hated her (technically it was Lisa but Shauna was the huntee).
I liked this season a lot, even though it was a slow burn. If we didn’t have to wait 2-3 years for the next season that would be awesome but doubt it comes quickly with the writers strike. Trusting that they have the whole story laid out like they claim makes the lack of answers much more tolerable.

You're probably right on that. The ending and beginning of old nat and young nat does make sense and she was definitely ready to die at the end of S1. I still am not entirely sure we got the truth from Lottie about Travis so in death maybe Nat will get that.

Good season. Really enjoy the show.
My only complaint is how Nat died. Just seemed pretty dumb the way it happened.
