Guess I should have watched last night, because of all the times I've seen him, I'm NEVER seen him entertain a right sided viewpoint. The funniest (saddest) thing I've seen on his show was when he and Michael Moore both claimed to be independents.

a couple of years ago some 911 truthers took over his show. since then I guess he's ready for on air protest with fade to black. And yes, it was great to see the shock on matthews face when maher went after kennedy.

Yeah I watched the clip, and yes I for once certainly agree with him. I thought he was going to be a smug prick and use the time to diss religion as a whole, and while he did make some jokes at Christianity's expense, he definitely for once took all other religions side over Islam.

I'm with you on that. I have my disagreements with Bill Maher, particularly his total anti-war opinion, his mantra on organic foods and healthy living, and his environmentalism (if you don't drive a Prius, you're an insensitive a-hole, etc.)
I DO agree with him on calling out people of all political persuasions when they say or do shite that doesn't make sense. I like when he calls out organized religion. I agree with his libertarian philosophy as far as freedom of speech and legalization of gay marriage, pot, etc.
Although he is smug, and a giant fricking snob, his show is entertaining and he always tries to entertain different viewpoints, as evidenced by the link above. Both video clips in the link were very entertaining. It's the topics and the discussion that make his show good. I was also a fan of Politically Incorrect on ABC, but I knew his non-PC takes on some issues would eventually cost him his spot on network TV.

I credit Maher for starting my transformation from conservative republican thinking to a more independent/libertarian way of thinking. I still disagree with him about how he thinks repubs are evil and dems are on the right side but are just pussies though
