If Bezos and Amazon want to make lots of money, they had best pay attention to what has been happening in D.C. and America for the past month.

Can't wait to see a gender fluid Arab Bond fight the patriarchy!

Any studio is capable of it, but I would argue Amazon has more hits than misses overall.

Their big name IPs have been failures. LotR. WoT. Jack Reacher had a shite S2. Jack Ryan got worse the longer it went.

I hope they take it back to the early sixties. I don't want to see advanced technology, i want to see gadgets. Loved the way Bond always shows up with a fake name and the bad guy is like, who is that guy? Or he just gives his real name and they still don't know him. Also, would give an excuse to have hot arse women, sex, tuxedos, glamourous hotels/casinos, smoking, cocktails, etc. I'm going to go on this important and difficult mission to literally save the world, but I'm not going to pass up a tasty cocktail or great piece of arse.

It’s so easy to make money from James Bond but they won’t be able to help themselves.

I enjoyed his style of Bond.

I liked Craig's first two Bond films. After that, meh.

Frankly, I don't know how Cavill isn't your first call.

Is British, has the right look and the right voice.

And he's not short like Craig.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I just don't get the appeal with Cavill.

I would choose one of these:

Don’t think you could go wrong with Hiddleston or Cavill. Theo James would be excellent as well.

Yes. 100%. And I haven’t even watched a James Bond movie since the 90s.

Corporate control of creative properties has been an abject disaster.

I understand the goal of any movie is to make money. I’m not naive. But when the ONLY goal is to make money, you get soulless garbage.

Also, the mega corporations are more subject to the whole “message over art” thing.

007 is about to become a feminist.

Well, there’s another cinematic, cultural touchstone destroyed.

Well 3 of the main issues Amazon and Broccoli were fighting over were

- making a Bond cinematic universe
- a Money Penny series
- a female James Bond spinoff

So yea Amazon is going to do a worse job

None of that means anything for the movies themselves which is all we've had before. We'll see once they decide on a new Bond. It was Broccoli who was reported to being ok with changing the character to gay or non-white.

I can't get over the fact that Aaron Taylor-Johnson is married to a 60 year old and took her last name. Not my James Bond.

Sure it does, a Bond cinematic universe absolutely matters to the movies. How can Bond related movies not affect Bond movies? And Broccoli being mad about a female Bond spinoff suggests that her comment about “not ruling out a female/black Bond” was more of a Rooney Rule type comment and not her actual position.

Amazon proudly had a commercial with the star being a chick with a mustache that dressed like Freddy Mercury.

So yeah. Amazon has it in them to do much worse.

JB is more likely to be over, not better.

Have no problem with any of this as long as they don’t screw with Bond (female is 008 or something, not 007)

I'm not in the "everything is woke and horrible" camp but the streamers have shown a propensity to twist classic franchises so that they'll fit the current styles and, even worse, dilute them with overexposure.

Bond has been a film series without spin-offs in film or TV (except for the Brian Cox reality series). If Amazon decides to have a Q series, or Young M, or The Moneypenny Files... the brand is fricked.
