As someone who has read the GoT and Witcher books, didn't think I'd be saying this. The seasons without the fat mans writing to go off of really damaged GoT.

Witcher is noticably better. It's a great series to wash the abortion ending of GoT out.

Don’t think it’s better than the first few seasons of GoT.

But yes it’s significantly better than the last one.

No.

Just because the last 2 seasons of GoT were terrible, doesn't mean that the first half of the series wasn't great.

I enjoyed Witcher, but it isn't close to the quality of of the first few seasons of GoT.

This is a pure recency bias.

This is all true. Don't get me wrong, the last two seasons were horribly bad, so much so that film critic Lindsay Ellis spent nearly two hours talking about how shitty they were, but it doesn't erase the seasons that came before them.

The last 2 maybe 3 seasons of GoT ruined everything for me. All the interesting story lines went to shite and it they basically made everything that happened before pointless.

Nothing is better than seasons 1-6 GOT.

The View rivals seasons 7-8

It's good, but doesn't have the production value of Game of Thrones. I wouldn't even argue Cavill does the best acting job, as Peter Dinklage was fantastic too.

Witcher is currently more satisfying because hope springs eternal for the future.

Very few shows stick the landing and GoT suffered more than most and that sours the overall product.

I love the Witcher books, games, and i realy enjoyed the show. Season 1 of the Witcher crammed about 5 or 6 short stories that made up “The Last Wish” and “Sword of Destiny” into 8 episodes. IMO they should have done 10-12 episodes and done a better job of explaining the timelines for people that didn't read the books. I understand why they did it, it just felt a bit rushed.

All that to say, the Witcher season 2 will start the main story arc that is played out over the novels, so it will be more cohesive. It isnt fair to compare the first season of the Witcher to GOT because it was all just backstory and random skipping through timelines.

I will reserve judgement until season 2 comes out before really comparing it to GOT.

When Witcher hits 3rd seasonish+, then we can compare.

Don't get me wrong, i fast forwarded thru a lot of episodes in GOT, because they were boring as hell, but comparing a 1 season show to something that had legs isn't fair.

They could turd up season 2 of witcher.

The bard (singer dude) who is there for comic relief, but is incredibly annoying, really ruined it for me. That guy is horrible. And cheesy as heck.

And Superman’s grunts get old.
