Saw the play on the West End in London, maybe a dozen years ago.

That SB trailer looked a bit different . . .

I saw the play on Broadway last March. Great spectacle. I doubt the movie delivers though.

Saw the play on Broadway, the scenery, acting, music, etc. was all great. The story? They had to take some serious liberties with the original to write it, that took me out of it.

Zero desire to see the movie but there will be TONS of purple-hairs who will go see it and rave about it.

Has the Broadway play have an AA actress or have they all been white?

Is the witch in it the good guy?
That's what that SB ad looked like..

We supposed to pull against the Wizard and for a witch and some scary looking flying monkeys?

I think the movie is in two parts, so that trailer was mostly about the beginning of the play, I thought it looked decent

Please don’t start this shite. The witch is literally green, why would the race of the actress matter at all?

Saw it when the Broadway show came to Cola. Enjoyed it immensely.

Don’t know that I want to watch the movie though.

Interesting they aren’t marketing it as a Part 1 where part 2 comes out in 2025

People will be mad when they find that out in theaters

Wicked has had runs on and off Broadway since the early 00s. There’s been a wide range of women who have played Elphaba. Alexia Khadime played her in the UK I believe.

I'm not sure if a black actress has played Elphaba, but when I saw the show on Broadway, a black girl played Glinda and was excellent.

Cynthia Errivo is a seasoned Broadway performer and is more than capable of handling the role. I'm more concerned about Ariana Grande's acting abilities.

The Wizard and his people are the true villains in Wicked.

Elphaba stands up to them and is the victim of a smear campaign which brands her as an evil witch.

Like two movies, or two parts as in separated at intermission like on Broadway?

If it's two movies, I'm out. At least till they are both released.

It will be two separate movies. They will be released a year apart.

I'm assuming the first movie will cover the events in Act 1 of the show and the second film will cover Act 2.
