Why is 'Friends' So Much More Popular Internationally Than 'Seinfeld'?

Saw a clip of a recent Aniston interview on British TV and they just kept asking about Friends. I've also heard that It is still one of the most popular shows there and throughout other countries.
Seinfeld on the other hand is barely even known outside of N America and has a fraction of the international syndication ...all while being in my opinion the best sitcom ever and possibly the most re-watchable show in history. I'm not saying Friends was a bad show....but Seinfeld here in the US still has a massive presence while Friends is really an afterthought.
What gives?

Maybe because Friends has attractive women like Aniston?

Friends was ok but Seinfeld was overrated IMO. Boring show

Jennifer Anniston had a 4-5 year run of hotness that can only be matched. Not surpassed.

maybe neurotic jew humor doesn't translate well to other countries

Are the situations in Seinfeld more inherently American and harder to interpret for foreigners where friends is just a high level Sit-Rom-Com?

Seinfeld requires slightly more attention paid. Lots of referential humor and colloquialisms that wouldn't translate.
Friends is pretty generic ha-ha with Jennifer Anistons cold hard nips mixed in.

So the show about nothing is hard to follow

To someone looking for a conventional premise and set up jokes, yeah, it actually could be. But what I said was that it might not translate as easily as Jennifer Aniston's cold hard nips (and conventional jokes).

"Jerry" was about nothing. Seinfeld wasn't

I get it, just too good of a line to run away from. I could easily see how Aniston carries the show internationally. I've never watched more than 10 minutes of Big Bang Theory, but all 10 minutes was just to see Cuoco on her prime.

Always one terribly unoriginal troll in a Seinfeld thread.

Because it is a much better show. Pretty simple

I was in junior high/high school during their primes and I always enjoyed Friends much more than Seinfeld.

Seinfeld characters are a little mean; foreigners probably don't see the humor in it.

I think the legit answer is that Friends has a wider demographic and on the whole attracts less intelligent viewers.

This. Seinfeld had its moments and granted those moments were pure gold. The moments where just to far and few. Most of it was just like what they portrayed it to be on that Family Guy episode.

The characters in "Friends" are more likable, and the tone of the show is more happy. It's a very positive, likable, relatable show. It's shallow, easily digestible humor.
Seinfeld is much more cynical and pessimistic. The characters are all terrible terrible people. A lot of the humor is very subtle and isn't caught until after repeat viewings. It's not a show everyone is going to like, but those that like it will love it.
Friends is "Journey". Seinfeld is "Black Sabbath".
