Who do you think has more talent/skill/acting chops? Please explain your answer. Thanks. This post was edited on 9/2/17 at 1:08 pm

Leo. I like Matt but most of his characters are so similar outside of a few. Leo is just so much more diverse. His South African accent in Blood Diamond, to go with nailing the character, is underrated IMO. McConaughey could never pull that off.

This is pretty accurate top to bottom. Leo is better at transforming himself into roles than MM. That said, I do like when MM shows his skills.

It's outdated, but I just wanted to bring back this gem:

His character in blood diamond was fantastic.
I like MM a lot but Leo has put up some big time performances.
Leo has an unreal ability to make you forget you are watching Leo and become absorbed by the character.

MM has turned it up quite a few notches the past 7-8 years.

DiCaprio has demonstrated more range

Leo has more range, but when properly cast I think MM has more depth.

All I'll say is I think Matt in Dallas Buyers Club is better anything that Leo has done.

Leo is a better actor.
MM transcended acting.

If I want to but a car - McConaughey.
If I want to buy a watch - Leo.
If I want someone to play McConaughey, then McConaughey, definitely.
Otherwise probably Leo.

Leonardo DiCaprio is the William Shatner/Jeff Goldbloom of this generation

I refuse to believe OP was a serious question.

I think it's accurate to say the roles have been reversed. From alright, alright, alright vs. Eating Gilbert Grape.
To Dallas Buyers Club and True Detective vs. Wolf of Wall St. and The Revenant.
I mean, one has gone from over-acting to under-acting and another has done the opposite.
