My favorite too. Just finished watching it on Roku. Scott is compelling.
I enjoy reading the story every Christmas too.
“You may be an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of underdone potato. There's more of gravy than of grave about you, whatever you are!”
Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol

Mickey's Christmas Carol would be GOAT level if it were feature length. Still outstanding as it is, but feels a bit rushed with everything crammed into a 25 minute runtime.

1938. Reginald Owen, Gene and Kathleen Lockhart, young June Lockhart. I watch it every year.
Spoiler: As Scrooge, Reginald Owen is a mean, miserly, old bastard. How much he changes is why I like this version best.

A wild fact for me in regard to the one they made in 1938 or 39 is that the actor who played Tiny Tim and one of the Cratchit daughters, June Lockhart, are still living. That's pretty amazing really
Her real life father played Bob Cratchit.

the Muppets version is just straight up a 9/10 movie. Not Christmas carol movie. Not Christmas movie. Not Muppets movie. Just movie. its everything a movie should be.
Michael Caine is fantastic as Scrooge.
One of the greats.

Flintstones was a pretty solid rendition too.
Surprised someone else mentioned this. It's an interesting take on it and we usually watch it every year.
