Which is your favorite version of A Christmas Carol?

We watched the version with Patrick Stewart last night. Very enjoyable.
I have 3 kids, and want to introduce them to the Muppets version. Those of you with kids, did your kids watch and enjoy the Muppets Christmas Carol or is it primarily popular with us older generations that grew up with the Muppets?

I don't know how they did it, but it's such a delightful movie... but yeah the Muppets. Great songs, great modernization. Doesn't feel stuffy. Still has a little spookiness.

When I was kid, my first encounter with the Christmas Carol story was the Rich Little version on HBO. Which is a ridiculous version of it… but because it was the first time I saw it, it’s the “canon” version of a Christmas Carol to me. So Ebenezer Scrooge will always sound like W.C. Fields in my head.

I like the George C. Scott and Muppets versions the best.
Flintstones was a pretty solid rendition too.

I love that story and don't think I've ever seen one I don't like but the 1935 version with Seymour Hicks and the early 50's one with Alistair Sim are up there for me.
A wild fact for me in regard to the one they made in 1938 or 39 is that the actor who played Tiny Tim and one of the Cratchit daughters, June Lockhart, are still living. That's pretty amazing really

The Jim Carrey version is pretty faithful to the book. I like that one.

1938. Reginald Owen, Gene and Kathleen Lockhart, young June Lockhart. I watch it every year.
Although the revelation of Want and Ignorance in Alastair Sim's 1951 version still haunts me.

For kids, I would go with Mickey's Christmas Carol.

Scrooge, the 1970 musical with Albert Finney, followed by the George C. Scott version.

When the little mouse in the opening scene says "please sir I want some cheese" my kids fricking lose it!
The Gonzo and Rizzo lines are hilarious throughout as well.

The double feature of Pluto’s Christmas Tree, and then Mickey’s Christmas Carol GOAT.
