I’ve googled it and gone back multiple pages. I have to be overlooking it. This is the most riveting, original shite ive seen on tv in a long time
Probably best series of the year for me so far

Started to watch it because HBO has a great track record with limited series. Got the vibe from the first 10 min that the guy that comes back to terrorize Jamie Bell's wedding was his gay lover from back in high school so i said nah im good. Could be wrong but thats the direction it seemed to be going in.

No, not his gay lover. The guy from Baby Reindeer is Jaime Bell's step brother. He created and wrote Half Man.
This show is fantastic. Great Thursday night replacement for The Pitt. Well done HBO.

Half Man (created by and starring Richard Gadd), the protagonist, Niall (played by Jamie Bell/Mitchell Robertson), is a gay man struggling intensely with his sexuality, internalized homophobia, and a toxic, codependent relationship with his half-brother Ruben.

From the trailer, I thought it was gay shite.
Is it not?
Is it not?

I don't mind a gay character as long as he / she is a supporting role, but if he / she is a main character, then I'm out.

From the above description, it appears the entire point of the show is gay shite

I watched the trailer, the entire story seems to revolve around gay shite. Like brokeback mountain, but one of the dudes is also a violent psycho

I watched the first episode and it was really weird. I like weird stuff, I liked the guys other show Baby Reindeer, but not gay incestuous weird.
I watched the first episode and for half the episode I had my hand on the remote because it felt like when they were showing them in high school they were on the verge of having sex in every scene.
Haven't brought myself to watch the second episode because I felt like it was going to lead there.

Not gay shite from what I’ve seen

I mean, the synopsis says otherwise

In the opening scene the older brother is legit grabbing the younger brothers dick on his wedding day saying "come on please one more time for old times sake".
Then flashback to high school years and the two sleep in the same bed together and the younger brother wakes up with jizz on his boxers.
Then later the older brother gets a girl to have sex with the younger brother while he sits there and enjoys it and is all in his face and touching near his junk.
All in the first episode

It's odd that they will be in your face with Gay shite when the Gay shite is not relevant, but try to hide the Gay shite when the Gay shite is relevant. Thanks for this thread to help me avoid watching even a minute of the Gay shite.

I don't mind acknowledging gay chapter in the supporting role for that matter. They are real. They walk among us.
I'm out when the gayness or his/her sexuality is a part of the storyline and not just a background character detail.
Why can't gay people just be people that who like dick in the bedroom and act feminine? Why does their sexuality have to be an outwardly defining point about who they are?

I've seen all the episodes thus far. At times, it is extremely uncomfortable to watch but I think it is well done if you stick with it.
Compelling plot and strong acting performances, but I understand how it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea.
Gadd is a talented guy I'll say that much.

Because in the leftist media, like the color of one’s skin, it defines who they are.
Identity is everything.

Same here.
It is amazing how much content HBO Max has imported from Europe. They even imported a French series called Privileges and dubbed it into English.
The only thing I am not a fan of is limited series that only go for a few episodes.
Also, what is the deal with series and flashbacks. I am not a fan of seeing a story as a flashbacks. It seems like every series is like that. I know it is a book concept, but for TV it can be confusing not knowing what is real time and a flashback.
