What have they done with these films and why are they keeping them from the people?

Each a masterpiece of my youth…all socially questionable, yet they happened!

I seen it!

PCU was years ahead of its time. Such a great movie and a completely accurate representation of what’s happening on college campuses today. And not just on the left, or the protesters. They nailed the right too as the frat guys pretty closely resemble the counter protesters we saw at the SEC schools recently.

Apparently Ernest Goes To Jail is suppressed by Disney because the Native American in the movie, Iron Eyes Cody, was actually Italian. Hell the ending of it is pretty crazy when looking back on it as an adult. Ernest and the kids basically try to kill all of those construction workers with a battery of explosives.

All these are on Archive.org. I've watched them all there within the last year.

Ernest Goes to Camp, Ernest Scared Stupid, and Ernest Goes to Jail are staples of my childhood.

Ernest Goes to Camp was on one of the streaming services fairly recently…I don’t remember which one though. I watched it with my daughter (no pics and loved the movie).

That's the GOAT Ernest movie by far...it's not close. Second best is Scared Stupid IMO.

How in gods name do you include ERNEST with MallRats and PCU?

I'll assume you mean that because Ernest is awesome and the other two don't compare.

That's what I will assume you mean. Otherwise we have to hit up the nearest Sonic for a fight.

Side note: I never watched Mall Rats until about a year or so ago. Kevin Smith movies weren't my jam too much back in the day (though I did like Clerks). But I did like Mall Rats.

Never sen PCU though.

PCU is awesome. It’s an absolute cult classic. Jeremy Piven is a star, and there’s just enough Pauly Shore to be amusing, but not enough to get annoying. It’s also entirely prophetic. What was seen as an exaggeration for comedy at the time is understated, if anything, by today’s standards.

I think it’s a Miramax thing

Ernest Goes to Camp was on Hulu last month or the month before. It’s probably just going to a different service so it’s been removed.

PCU I haven’t seen anywhere on any streaming.

I still have my copies of Mallrats and PCU on dvd. 2 of my absolute favs.

and Dogma is another I absolutely loved. the fact that Smith showed up and protested his own movie with other religious zealots, and they had no idea who he was - and even got interviewed by the news thinking he was against the movie, and even they had no idea who he was was genius.
