Do we not have a season thread on this? For those of us who didn't like Season 1, Season 2 is lightyears better. The production is better, there is less forced wokeness(still some), and the story is good. Yes, there are a lot of changes from the books, but there had to be.

Rotten Tomatoes

Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score is way up from last year.

Wholly molley, I got bored in the first 15 minutes when there was a couple hens squawking about being underutilized in a matriarchal society. The writers apply the same women complaints no matter who is on charge.

A dried pile of shite is lightyears better to eat than a fresh, steaming pile of liquid shite.

However it's still eating shite.

I gave S1 a chance and was sorely disappointed. Rafe isn't telling the story of the books, he's telling what he wishes the story the story had been. A great example of this is that he considers it to be an ensemble story. It's not and that failure to understand what the core story actually is versus the support stories means that the very foundation of the series is faulty. A faulty foundation isn't the best support for whatever structure you build on it.

Ok, but what kind of audience was left to review it after the abomination that was Season 1. Anyone that had any sense gave up on it already.

Exactly. 99% of the actual fans (book readers) tuned out after the season 1 failure and I reckon many never even bothered to finish it

The bad guys are way better actors/characters. Nynaeve or whatever is the worst actress/character. She is a pain to watch.

First season slowly killed lore

Season finale finished it off. It's dead.

After that laughably shitty finale. . .what could the second season possibly offer?

hard pass

When he made it possible for the Dragon to be a woman, I decided Rafe just didn't understand the source material.

I made it about 15 minutes into S2E1, and abandoned it. It's not good. The reason you didn't see the existing thread on Wheel of Time is because it's been buried, because the majority of people on this board really, really don't like it.

When he made Mat not a lovable scoundrel, but into a despicable Thief, his loving and capable father into a drunken wife beater, Perrin into a poorly muscled married man, until he kills his wife, the entire country-wholesome community of Two Rivers into a dark bed of intrigue, and containing only a single group of people with the presence of mind and gumption to stand up to a trolloc, and even that a collection of caricatured hillbilly bumpkin women (of course, it had to be the women) with absurd Southern Accents.

That's when I knew

And that was all in the first episode.

I didn't get any further.

The books are amongst my all-time favorites

Its because they failed so hard in season 1 that it didn't deserve a season 2 thread. You would have to keep on it and keep updating. Season thread only happen for shows that knock it out of the ball park.

Game of Throne knocked it out of the park from season 1. WoT failed and fricked with the source materials too badly for it to ever get off the ground. Heck it drop with little to no fanfare.

It’s amazing how little anyone cares about the second season of what was supposed to be a big epic production
