but most of all:
Have never re-read the book, either.

Probably Apocalypse Now. No reason to watch it again.

The Road is a great pick.
I think it is pretty safe to say the Blood Meridian movie they are trying to make would be tough to rewatch if it’s anything like the novel.

Brothers. I am that way with most movies like that or the covenant. People don't understand. Not that the movies arent re watchable. How unbearing it is to see the others in the movie treat the protagonist like they are the wrong ones.
Still bought both. Stories like that need to be told. Fiction and non.
FMJ i could watch every day. Nobody but joker beind a judgemental prick there and even he gets a taste of his own BS.

Stand by Me. I watched it at 17 and it damn near crushed me because I realized that part of my life was over and never coming back. Everything got immensely better and I wouldn't trade my life now for anything, but I miss those times, my friends, my imagination, my sense of adventure... I just can't bring myself to watch it again

Schindlers list
I know this will be a lot of people's choice, but I do recommend a rewatch. You miss a lot of the technical aspects the first time around (for obvious reasons) but it truly is a beautifully made film. It's Spielberg at a level I didn't think he was capable of.
If it wasn't so hard to watch several times, I think Schindler's List is an easy top 3 film of all time. Godfather, Goodfellas and Shawshank usually get the nod but that's probably because people watch them 100 times.

Schindlers List easy.
Maybe when my kids are older.

Look, any movie based on a Cormac McCarthy book is probably going to be good...and also soul crushing.

any movie where the dog dies

I saw a list on msn.com, asking the same question and some of the movies ranked are absurd....
Top 20 Incredible Movies You'll Probably Never Watch Again
#9: “Apocalypse Now” (1979)
#6: Gone with the Wind (1939)
#5: “Lawrence of Arabia” (1962)
I guess this list was made for the ADHD, Twilight generation that doesn't value moviemaking.

That one's hard to understand. Every scene is iconic.

For me it's Reds (1981) with Warren Beatty, Diane Keaton, Jack Nicholson, and others. Beatty beat out Spielberg (Raiders of the Lost Ark) that year for Best Director, which was criminal.
The movie is 3 hours and 15 minutes of overflowing self importance. But quality filmmaking with quality performances. Overall, never again.

Joker falls into this category.
Saving Private Ryan. Seen it once, start to finish. Caught some parts other times, but no need to fully rewatch.
Inception , maybe? IDK, maybe not ‘great’.

I re-watch this at least twice a year

I could put this on at virtually any scene and be absolutely captivated by it. I don't understand how someone finds this unwatchable
