In hindsight, making my grandparents take us to see Meet the Fockers when we were 10 and 7 was a bad idea. As kids we don't really get even a lot of the more vulgar jokes but it was just silly and funny to us. Looking back I rememebr my grandparents being visibly uncomfortable afterwards but not knowing why.

ETA: Another one I remember is watching Jackass with my family. My dad was laughing his arse off, my mom was like "oh my god these people are disgusting idiots", and I'm just sitting on the couch mortified because I was at that awkward age where you know enough but aren't quite old enough that you still don't want your parents to know that you know what is going on.

If OP was 10 when that movie was in theaters, he's probably 23-24 right now...

Being a 9 year-old and having my parents take me and a friend to see Anchorman is something I still remind them about to this day lol. They had no clue what they were taking us to see.

I remember my parents getting up and walking us out of Gotcha.

In college I went to see Pulp Fiction with my mom when home over Summer, she loved Travolta. We did not discuss the movie on the way back home

Irreconcilable Differences. It was PG and I had a kid's crush on Drew Barrymore. I didn't understand any of the fighting going on in the movie I just remember my mom telling me to cover my eyes when Sharon Stone flashed her tits.

1970, my dad pulled us out of Cheyenne Social Club. He thought it was your normal Jimmy Stewart / Henry Fonda western. He didn't know it was about a whore house.

9 year old me got to see some boobies through a see-through negligee before he dragged us out.

I saw titanic with my Aunt and my cousins (one was 7) when I was 10. She’s super religious and about stroked out when Kate Winslet showed those boobies, and I was no longer a boy.

Is that when you decided you identified with the other gender?

I was kind of lucky growing up that my parents' friends ran the local theater, so pretty much from the time I was 6 and older, they just dropped me off, bought my tickets, asked what time the movie was over, and then they'd come pick me up. So to be honest, pretty much any movie my parents didn't want to watch with me, they didn't go. Not even one comes to mind.

I have a few in mind as an adult. Team America is the one that most comes to mind, although this was in the comfort of my living room. Gary's redemption by blowing Spotswoode, my father was not thrilled saying "This is the gayest fricking movie I've ever seen".

My parents always erred on the side of caution, but Titanic at 6 years old. I had to cover my eyes when the boobies came out

My nephew convinced us all to watch Bad Santa on a family beach trip one year one rainy day. My mother in law(his grandmother) wasn't too crazy about the dressing room scene, and claims to have never heard of anal sex. It made for an entertaining, if not uncomfortable, 10-15 minutes.
