I enjoyed the movie although realizing it’s downfalls.

Leah floating in space was the point I gave up and just enjoyed the movie for what it was.

FWIW, the purple headed MILF would get it.

I may not have given up right away, but the idiotic exchange between Hux and Poe was a bad start.

Luke throwing Anakin's saber, and any respect I had for Rian Johnson, in the ocean.

Finn trying to escape the Rebellion. Made no fricking sense in the context of his arc from the first movie.

I realize I can’t say this without someone dragging politics into it, but the moment I realized that Rose was going to appear in more than one scene, my blood pressure began to rise.

ETA: My wife just made me watch the first 45 minutes or so of this shite movie again. Now that I’ve refreshed my memory on what order certain scenes play out, I’ll change my answer to the OP to Leia flying through space. Not only was the scene itself stupid, but I remember angrily shouting (in my head) at the screen in the theater, “Carrie Fisher is dead!!! WHY AREN’T YOU KILLING OFF HER CHARACTER?!?!?!”

I watched it for the first time this week. I thought it was just really poorly written and directed all the way around, and especially the beginning.

I agree that Luke tossing the light saber (along with milking the sea creature and drinking it) was kind of a harbinger that it wasn't going to be a good movie.

I forgave a lot of it up until Rose saved Finn and in the background of the most awkward kiss ever, the First Order is blasting a hole in the giant door, seemingly dooming the resistance.

So many characters were just too dumb to be believable.

"Downfalls" being that it's a terrible movie? I'm sorry for you that you enjoyed one of worst movies ever made.

The Casino Planet sideplot was horrendous. Just killed the movie.

Rose's dumbass taking an awesome sacrifice away from Finn

Also Holdo not telling Poe her plan to prevent him from going behind her back

Honetsly if it wasn't for Poe, Rey, Luke, and Kylo all the entire Rebellion would have been wiped out and it'd all be Holdo and Rose's fault

No, I prefer not to frick off, but thanks. The movie is trash. Justifying complete crap because a person may enjoy it is a terrible point of view. Actually seems counterproductive to having quality films made.

There are tons of crap movies made and not calling this for what it is doesn't seem right. Enjoy terrible movies? Add TLJ to your list.

I didn't like the opening scene. It had me dubious from the beginning. The milking scene was straight up ridiculous and I was looking to be disappointed from then on. The diversion to the gambling world in the middle of a space chase was horrible pacing that made the timeline of the entire movie difficult to swallow. Then, maybe if all the issues before hadn't been building a distaste in my mouth it could have been good, but when they killed Snoke anticlimactically I about had it. I guess at that climax is when it culminated in my being pretty wtf (not in a good way) and not knowing if I could like the movie.

It really isn't a good movie at all. Not even for all the other bullshite that people like to bitch about.

The fact that it picked up immediately after the last one ended was a bad sign.

When I fell asleep in the theater. Roughly 40ish minutes in I guess?

I didn't hate it the first time I saw it I guess because I was just excited to see another star wars movie, but it was pretty brutal the second time around. For the record, I'm a fan of Kylo and Rey's respective stories, but there's no doubting that this:

quote:

il Rose saved Finn and in the background of the most awkward kiss ever,

was the low point of the entire franchise. There may be no turning back. Also I try to avoid complaining about virtue signaling or whatever but there's no doubt that Rose exists solely because "diversity." She's the worst character ever. Finn basically serves no purpose at this point either.
