Interstellar. I feel like it was made to really be enjoyed with a proper surround sound setup

The Hurt Locker...very little music but lots of ambient sound.

My personal favorite is Ronin. Its just DD 5.1 but I love the gunfire and engine roars.

I'd always heard that the Harrier scene in True Lies was one of the best to test surround sound.

You don't have surround sound.

The correct answer is Ready Player One. The big race at the beginning.

Empire Strikes Back, the Hoth battle would be awesome and of course the Vader vs Luke scene.

That is still a classic scene for surround demos. The newest 4k/UHD is remastered in Atmos and has a quality mix. For years (and still is) was THE amp torture scene, played at reference level with average sensitivity speakers it has been known to kick a lot of receivers into protection mode.

Sound is where physical media still has a large advantage over streaming.

The fricking Irene scene in Black Hawk Down is excellent for demonstrating a systems bass extension and has very high amplitude pulses at 7hz. Though that is more useful for a system with multiple 18"/21"/24" subs.

Some others

U571 chapter 9

MI Ghost Protocol Chapter 5

Thor chapter 3

The Hunger Games chapter 10

Transformers Dark of the Moon chapter 15

Star Wars episode 1 pod race

For entire films that are mastered well John Wick 2, Master and Commander, Lord of the Rings (especially Return of the Kings), The Fifth Element, and Dunkirk.
