Not a movie, but the use of "In the Air Tonight" in Miami Vice was perfection.

I thought Avatar 1's song placement was great.
The lyrics were meaningless because Cameron couldn't make the Navi language into song the way he wanted but the tribal music fits the actions occurring on screen.

You could just do a list of Martin Scorsese movies.
I can't think of a Director who relied more on songs for his storytelling.
Mean Streets:
"Jumpin' Jack Flash" -- The Rolling Stones
"Tell Me" -- The Rolling Stones
"I Love You So" -- The Chantels
"Addio Sogni Di Gloria" -- Giuseppe Di Stefano
"Canta Per' Me" -- Giuseppe Di Stefano
"Munasterio Di Santa Chiara" -- Giuseppe Di Stefano
"Marruzzella" -- Renato Carosone
"Scapriccatiello" -- Renato Carosone
"Please Mr. Postman" -- The Marvelettes
"I Looked Away" -- Eric Clapton
"Desiree" -- The Charts
"Rubber Biscuit" -- The Chips
"Pledging My Love" -- Johnny Ace
"Ritmo Sabrosa" -- Ray Baretto
"You" -- The Aquatones
"Ship of Love" -- The Nutmegs
"Florence" -- The Paragons
"Malafemmina" -- Jimmy Roselli
"Those Oldies but Goodies" -- Little Caesar and The Romans
"I Met Him on a Sunday" -- The Shirelles
"Be My Baby" -- The Ronettes
"Mickey's Monkey" -- The Miracles
"Steppin' Out" -- Cream
"It's in His Kiss" -- Betty Everett
"Baby Oh Baby" -- The Shells
"Hideaway" -- Eric Clapton
The Color of Money:
"Strangers in the Night" -- Frank Sinatra
"I'll Never Smile Again" -- Tommy Dorsey & His Orchestra
"Anema e Core" -- Roberto Murolo
"The Day the Rains Came" -- Jane Morgan
"The Girl From Ipanema" -- Antonio Carlos Jobim
"I'll Remember April"-- Charlie Parker
"Feel Like Going Home" -- The Del Lords
"Va! Pensiero"-- Georg Sulti (from the opera Nabucco)
"Walk on the Wild Side" -- Jimmy Smith
"Still a Fool" -- Muddy Waters
"My Baby's in Love With Another Guy" -- Robert Palmer
"She's Fine -- She's Mine" -- Bo Diddley
"It's My Life Baby" -- Eric Clapton and The Big Town Playboys
"Who Owns This Place?" -- Don Henley
"Let Yourself In Nor It" -- Robert Palmer
"It's in the Way That You Use It" -- Eric Clapton
“Two Brothers and a Stranger" -- Mark Knopfler
"Don't Tell Me Nothin'" -- Willie Dixon
"Standing on the Edge" -- B.B. King
"One More Night" -- Phil Collins
"Still the Night" -- BoDeans
"Werewolves of London" -- Warren Zevon
I mean that's just two movies and it could be a 4 CD box-set.
I would list Goodfellas but it would require an endless amount of scrolling.

The biker beatdown to "The 10 Commandments Of Love" in A Bronx Tale is right up there.
The perfect juxtaposition of words of love to unhinged violence.
"Now's youze can't leave..."

For my tastes, the perfect blending of movie scene and song came when there was “No Easy Way Out” in Rocky IV.
It’s an adrenaline rush like none other. Rocky’s back is against the wall, and you feel it with him in those four minutes.

Love that scene and song.
The song is also used in Friday the 13th when the dude finds the weed and Jason finds him.
