One hit knockouts with either random object or fist. Then knocked out person stays that way for however long needed. It's incredibly hard to knock someone out. Professional fighters even have to get lucky to do it then often times they will snap out of it as they hit the ground.

Appreciate all the input so far. I'll admit that it wasn't clear, but my original intent was for a deep dive into particular details about specific movies, not just a running list of generic movie tropes and improper fire arm usage.

Not a movie, but it always bothered me in Law and Order how every time they question someone in the field, they are almost always walking and carrying on with whatever task they are doing while being questioned.

I thoroughly enjoy the latest Apes trilogy, I reminded myself that Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes really should have their titles swapped.

It annoys the hell out of me that Rise is before Dawn. The titles fit the opposite film.

I’m with you here. They definitely fricked up the titles to these films.

I watched an interview with some cast members of some show I can't recall YEARS ago that spoke to this. Basically said pretending to eat was always the hardest part of most dining scenes. The food is always cold from being placed on set long before the shoot and it's not natural as you can't eat and talk like a normal human, as it distracts from the dialog and creates bad shots.

I cannot watch people eat in movies unless it's really subtle. The scene in LOTRs when Denethor is eating/smacking/dripping makes me want to kill puppies. I know there is another clear example in a popular movie, but I cannot think of it right now.

I think what gets me are snakes that are just big chilling or running away hissing. Most snakes don't hiss unless they are "fight" mode of fight or flight, and again most snakes never get into fight mode with humans.

Also that sword/knife sound that's made whenever someone pulls a knife. We know damn well most knife "harnesses" are not made out of steel.

I got locked out of a room in our house and we were going to be replacing the door and frame in the next 6 months with a remodel so I kicked it open. I’m a fairly stout dude and it took 3 or 4 kicks for an interior door.

Things that completely defy the laws of physics in "real world" type movies.

Professor ‘Enry Higgins never sings any of his lyrics in “My Fair Lady”. He’s a part of multiple musical numbers, but just talks out what he was clearly meant to be singing.

The movie yesterday where suddenly the Beatles never happened, apparently cigarettes never happened at the same time.

It pissed me off because basically the entire world would not have been colonized the way it was if not for tobacco.

Also, John Lennon suddenly wasn't dead any more. That movie had a lot of problems

It did, but I enjoyed that movie for what it was.

There's really no way to do time travel/alternate universes cleanly. Way to many paradox and butterfly effect rabbit holes you can go down.

Watched "Without Remorse" over the weekend. I enjoyed the movie overall but what really got me was Guy Pierce's character as CIA director or whatever, at no point in his other scenes in the movie was he shown to have secret service like protection around him except for the restaurant scene at the end. They purposely show him wave off 4 or 5 different armed guards on his own volition to go the bathroom alone, and then suddenly Michael B Jordan walks in the bathroom after him? How TF did the guards not see him??? Then MBJ chokes out Guy Pierce, and somehow manages to sneak him out an unconscious man passed 5 armed guards who had just seen him go in the restroom? They could just as easily not referenced those guards since they were not shown previously in the film. Then of course Guy stays unconscious for probabl 10 minutes until he's well into the car ride and tied up. That was some lazy arse writing

Overuse of shaky/hand held cam. Paul Greengrass can frick right off. Often times I think it's the sign of an insecure director.

Also, bad southern accents by liberal hollywood yankees. Gripes my arse.
