OH HELL YA
That trailer looks amazing. I'm a huge fan of Eggers and Werewolf movies, so it doesn't get much better than this for me.

in honor of Mel Brooks 100th birthday yesterday
...and it's the first thing that leaps to mind anytime I hear that word since I saw this film
but yeah I'll certainly watch this one ... and hope it's better than Nosferatu; I'll watch anything with Willem Dafoe

Eggers is the man. Can’t wait.

Came here to post this news. I can’t wait
My biggest hope is the style of the werewolf is similar to Bad Moon above, and I think he will do it more wolf-like than man. I see the female crawling on all fours so that's a decent hint already

Maybe this was obvious to everyone already, but if you listen closely to the trailer, I believe the voice in the trailer is Count Orlok himself, laying the curse of the werewolf on this peron. Is Eggers building his own monster universe in a way?

I'm hoping that Eggers continues these old school movies with Frankenstein, The Mummy, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, The Invisible Man...

Robert Eggers’ directorial peak was from 2016-2019. His style of filmmaking was cool back then because of how uncommon it was at the time but now it just feels overdone with every horror film director trying to copy it.

Oh great nothing screams entertainment like having to use a decoder ring to assume dialogue in a horror movie.
Heres an example from canterbury tales.
quote:
Whan that Aprille with his shoures soote,
The droghte of March hath perced to the roote,
And bathed every veyne in swich licour
Of which vertu engendred is the flour;
Which means
quote:
When April with its sweet showers
The drought of March has pierced to the root,
And bathed every vein in such liquid
By whose virtue the flower is
So either way id have to listen to some dumb shite.
Ooooo so eerie.. theyre using
28 words to say what would take 5 in common speech.
I bet instead of saying "its coming, run!"
They say something edgy and cool lile maketh thy presence scarce, for i feareth the evil beseeches thou frometh which not thy can see!!!

Wait till you see who’s been cast as the werewolf…

It's called creating an atmosphere. More directors should try it.

Anyone else get Frau Blucher vibes?

Some people prefer green screen, CGI slop, things exploding and secondary viewing stuff to actual visual storytelling.
