Agreed. I am enjoying the show, but for the most part I do think it’s lacking in the actual “man that was a scary scene” department, with a couple of exceptions.

And there have been some moments that have taken me out of the story. For example, I did not expect us to get a war movie, solider consoling his dying friend scene.

I'd love to but currently I'm in the middle of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles so it'll be a while to dive into the Stephen King universe. I read It when I was a teen.

I've been watching YouTube creators explain the whole universe for me which has helped a lot.

This dialogue reminds me of true detective season 4. This isn’t how normal kids speak.

Can we talk about the intro/opening sequence?

The music, the vintage vibe, the semi-subtle plugs and overall progression... it honestly might be one of my favorites of any show I can recall.

I’d imagine most kids would be that way if they’re only parent was arrested for murder

Her Mom is gone and died while in childbirth (which Pennywise reminded her of in the worst way), her Dad is locked up for murders he didn't commit (and is getting sent to Shawshank of all places), and there's an ancient alien entity that's killing kids in town.

I might be a little cranky as a kid.

Just came across this great Twitter/X post that talks about the addition of sinister ambient noise to the song as the show has progressed.

Just thought about something. Way early in the thread someone posted they were getting the feeling of like The Mist with the military involved. It would be years later, but they are trying to find something with IT on the “Indian land”. where they had I guess trapped it. Or so they thought.

Indian land.

What if this is the beginning of Project Arrowhead? Which later would unleash the Mist. Hmmm

I liked the latest episode. Moved the plot forward and allows the black spot incident to happen without it being all about racism. The mob is out to get an escaped murderer. Of course we know hes innocent. Also I'm pretty sure it's Pennywise's daughter who ratted him out.

I like the child actors and how they are dealing with it.

The previews showed a nice use of a Storm of the Century reference too.

I’ve wondered if they’re gonna eventually make a comment about how they’ve got a team in Orrington looking for something on a plot of ground or something of the sort.

Some people are snowflakes when there’s any reference at all to racial matters.
Sometimes white racism is real. It makes no sense to ignore it.

I liked the Pennywise scene of course. Him chasing them doing and then coming to a complete halt once he realizes the child was trapped was chilling.

I’m on the last episode. Some of the woke stuff pointed out has been valid but it’s nothing over the top.

Graveyard scene was the most cringe part of the show so far.

I’m really confused about what was in the Hanlon locked box scene/hallucination.

ETA: Got it answered

Pretty solid show so far. I had low expectations.

I've really enjoyed this series so far, not sure why most in here are so down on it. I'm a huge King fan and it's done really well with giving backstory and setting the scene for Derry and IT.

That being said, this episode was one of the weakest for me with the exception of setting up what happens at the Black Spot. Unless they redeem the whole Pennywise daughter and Halloran box plot lines - but I really don't like those angles right now it seems like they're trying to do too much.

I had low expectations for the show but I’m enjoying it enough to keep watching.

It’s basically “Stranger Things : Stephen King Edition” but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Wish they would have gotten better actors for the kids and done better character development. I couldn’t care less if any of them die and find myself rooting for the Clown to get them.

The adults are way more interesting and fleshed out.

Not sure if its the acting or the writing. They've made everyone of the kids have zero impulse control.

The little guy is fantastic and will be a star.

Maybe thats intentional
