I read this before it happened and thought it was going to end in the bathroom. I thought I was good until she went into shop class.

Yeah that eyeball scene was gross. I'm shocked sure wanted to cut them off.
I would have gone to the nurse.
I can't tell if in the end she just gouged her eyes out or if she really did grow snail eyes.
If the latter how could lilly get blamed? If the former Lily is screwed

Is this show an original story or is it based on any Stephen King story? I know it has some King characters. Just curious. The Native American stuff seems cool.

This show is pretty hugely based on social commentary from that time period. Almost all of the character conflicts are based on racism in that time period. Or is incorporated in the conflict in some way. I don’t have a problem with it because there’s some interesting storylines that was the situation in that time period. But know that going in. I’m surprised people aren’t losing it here on this one

I like it though. It’s a good watch. Need more Pennywise though.

I generally do have a problem with woke/dei garbage, but I kind of agree with you here.

It's the african Americans on the show that appear to be more racist toward the white population. I think it was during episode 2 a group of black men used the term "crack#r" amongst themselves. ...several times. It was really offensive but that's certainly more in line with the racism experienced in this country, than from the other direction.

Pretty sure all the social commentary stuff comes directly from the book. The black soldiers, bowers and the legion of white decency, the black spot fire, etc. these are the stories people wanted to see covered in this show.

Also fun fact if the theater owner does get sent to Shawshank the timelines do match up with Red and Andy

Maybe I'm just impatient but, the show needs to get moving forward.

The eyeball thing was weird. I guess that's her punishment for being such a shitty friend. I don't get how her first thought was to try to cut them off. I saw a picture of that girl with one of the eyeglass lenses blacked out so, i knew she survived. But, I kind of thought during the struggle she would lose more than an eye.

Show is a little slow but entertaining. Most of the characters are actually likeable.

The CGI though just hard to get over some of these scenes. Sometimes showing less is more

The eyeball thing was so over the top and ridiculous that I didn't even find it that disturbing.

And she didn't die, just will be blind now, so I'm assuming she'll be able to vindicate Lilly.

Yeah, I mentioned earlier that I saw a picture of the eyeball girl with one lens of her glasses blacked out. So I'm guessing she lost what looks like her right eye.

Can't find that pic anywhere but, I know I saw it

My problem with the eyeball scene is it doesn’t really fit with how pennywise fricks with kids. He takes on the form of their fears. I dont recall a time in the books where he made some kid go through some freaky body horror shite related to their fears. If he can do that, why doesn’t he just make them go all veruca salt and explode like a blueberry?

It's been driving me crazy trying to figure out where I have seen the guy who plays Halloran, and it finally came to me. He was in a couple episodes of Justified, and he gets taken out by an Air bag.

Also, the Indian lady (Rose) is none other than Winona from the Cigar store Indian episode of Seinfeld.

Yeah I get why she was scared of it, still doesn’t change the fact that pennywise doesn’t go all body horror and make victim’s bodies contort in weird ways on their own.

Pennywise is the one that takes on the form of the fear

IT messes with their head. IT made her mind see her eyes were bulging and then she harmed herself.

Like I said, he takes on a form of the victim’s fears. Even all the other instances in this show that’s how he works. In this case, it would’ve been more fitting to turn into a man-eating snail with bulging eyes to scare her then eat her.

In this case, I think it was just the writers forcing a situation to make lily look crazy in front of a bunch of people again
