I don't think a 6-year-old would understand why it's stupid and hilarious.

uhh, both these movies aren't stupid and hilarious when you're a kid.

Looking back now... yeah, the bike boogie scene with Crew and Aunt Becky is cheesy and hilarious, but not for a 6 yr old.

His son will be outside on his bike thinking he is a BMX pro the very next day after watching RAD.

Done. His little sister has most of these movies, so he's been forced to watch just about all of these.

My list was not a complete one. Just examples of cartoon movies.

Good call. I remember as a kid loving the scene when he pushes his head through the roof of the car and then starts making a siren noise.

Homeward Bound
The Little Rascals

Solid list for the most part, minus a few.

Free Willy is where I draw the line. I have a younger brother who is 10 years younger than me and he would watch Free Willy on vhs and as soon as the ending credits came on, he would rewind it and watch it again. I dont ever wanna watch that crap again. End rant.

Lulz. Sorry to strike a nerve with Free Willy!

I highly recommend the original Our Gang/Little Rascals shows. My grandparents bought the boxed set on VHS for us to watch when we visited as kids.

For a black and white show from the 30's it really held up well watching them as a kid in the early 90s.

One of my favorite movies as a kid in the 80's was Space Camp.

It was awesome. I did it 2 years. Space Camp and then Space Academy. If it is still around, I will send my kids. The 6 hour shuttle mission simulation was the tits.

what was that dinosaur movie back in the 80's. A man and a woman were taking care of a baby dinosaur they had found and the natives were trying to either kill it or kill them?

eta....found it

My oldest brother was 5 years my senior, so I watched all of these movies plus night of the living dead (and other messed up stuff) before I was 7 years old.

I've only killed two cats so I think i came out decently adjusted.

This movie may be too mature for him, but I remember liking at at his age: Midnight Madness.

My point is that I think my son is ready to move on from cartoons. His whole life we've had him watching cartoon movies like Toy Story, Cars, Rango, etc...You get the idea. However, he's never really watched many movies that were not animated.

He's never going to be too old for animated movies, but it's good to watch older movies. A lot of the new stuff is mindless cartoons or tween love-drama shows. We had much beter tv in the 80s and 90s.

When I coach 7/8 yo baseball, I would assign as "homework" Sandlot, the Rookie and Angel in the Outfield.

Net result: kids with no previous interest in baseball wanted to come to practice and wanted to learn.

Then I'd watch Walter Matthau in the orignal Bad News Bears ...

great idea

Also, not sure if he's already seen them, but OP's son should watch all the old school Disney cartoons as well. I saw him list Pixar movies earlier, but the old Disney animated movies are badass.

My girlfriend's daughter (4&6) are working their way though the Disney Catalogue. I just burned them Saludos Amigos, and Song of the South too. They need to know were the Mexican ride in Epcot comes from and Splash Mountain. Silly those can't be found on sale.

I was thinking of letting my 9 year-old son watch the Goonies recently and screened it just to see. Counted and found that some form of sh*t is said 19 times.

Maybe. I just don't think a 6 year-old will care about the 80's romance drama.

And OP, I forgot. Dragonslayer has a very brief nude shot. It's not sexual, but I just thought I should mention it.
