There’s literally a galaxy of resources all around, so I can’t imagine what technical reason there would be to wait for local inhabitants to evolve, go through an industrial revolution, and then come back to obliterate them.

But I guess the movie has to happen somehow.

This movie was God-awful. It’s mostly Ice Cube screaming and cursing at a video screen.

Catastrophe occurring on their home planet forcing them to go to one of the possible habitable planets they seeded eons ago.

I already have to watch and listen to people use facetime in public. I have no desire to watch a movie about it as well.

15 years and they're already remaking it?

There was a streaming series a couple of years ago that was a modern take on the story. Sadly, they deviated so far from the source material that it became unwatchable. The initial arrival and attack was very well done, but it went downhill from there. The “aliens” were revealed to be humans from the future who travelled back in time.

I couldn’t get through it. It was awful. Ice Cube is one of the worst actors ever. What happened? Go back to the Friday movies or even back to Boyz In The Hood and he was much better.

We're also exploring the galaxy for other habitable planets. Mars could work as a temporary home for humanity once the sun boils the earth's oceans, but eventually the sun going to explode and our solar system will die along with it. If the alien's star is at its end, they'd have to either go to another solar system or die out

Well he was kind of just playing a version of himself in those movies, he is from the hood.

Dude was Papa Doc - he went to private school and college, not exactly hood rat shite.

He did grow up in bad part of LA so he does have that to fall on but his best acting job is convincing everyone he came from the streets.

This might be the most terrible movie I have ever fricking seen. This was supposed to be a theatrical release!?

The data is food. The terrible CGI. The end sequence basically being an ad for Amazon prime(prime air, you must place an order to activate the drone!). Seriously, what the frick.

I sat through this bag of crap before I saw this thread. Eva Longoria should have been my first clue it was going to suck.

We finished it tonight but we decided to watch it knowing it was horrible and we could make fun of the terrible acting. Ice Cube actually says at one point "Talk to me Goose." We lost our shite laughing at that.
