Shot entirely on an old iPhone.

But of what benefit is putting a machine underground? Only to be jumpstarted later. It takes more effort to dig up the ground, put in some massive machine and then bury it again. That’s just retarded.
Did the machines build themselves? Were they just small autobot type mechanisms that overtime constructed themselves? Then were activated & piloted later? The logic doesn’t seem to fit.

I ask myself why do we need another remake? Diversity?

Still plenty of plot holes in that too. We never uncovered one in building cities? No accidental excavation of a tripod?
This. For all humanity's mining, construction, searching for oil and minerals, not ONCE did anyone come across one of these things? And how long were they down there? 20K yrs? 100K? 5 million?
As for this trailer, I re-watched. The story makes no sense. They could accomplish everything they wanted without the silly 'data is food' nonsense. Is that supposed to make it more 'modern day'? Sending a message that we all should be more fearful of THEM collecting our data?
Can't WAIT for the super well written and thought out explanation for this one that'll make this a fantastic movie!

So basically, they took the title of the book and then made the rest of the shite up.

I think I read somewhere that they had to wait a few millennia for the Earth to populate so they would have enough human food/fuel?

I guess. The standard meteor strike then aliens attack storyline is still better.

Tried to watch this tonight, didn't make it all the way. Absolutely terrible and a complete waste of time.

Watching this horrible film really has me worried for the upcoming kool aid movie

This might be the biggest piece of shite I’ve ever watched. It’s worse than Epic Movie.

I did, as well. I'm usually very easy to entertain, but this was just bad . Like very bad.

Another reason I'm glad I don't have Prime Video anymore. I didn't have to pay for this trash either.

Nice, lol.

I had to turn it off after 15 minutes because he kept getting Microsoft Teams notifications. I don’t need that negativity in my life outside of business hours.

I assumed they buried stuff on multiple planets within the habitable zone of a star, waiting for conditions to become suitable for invasion/repopulation if the need arose for their species.
Not terribly dissimilar to aliens burying a monolith on the moon. Obviously for different reasons

No clue how this version got greenlit though. I saw the trailer the other day when I hopped on prime. It looked incredibly dumb
