This was being billed as a more faithful adaptation to the novels. That was supposed to be the whole point.

Who is this being made for? Kids aren’t going to watch it. Fans of the series are going to hate it. And all of the movie fans will mock the stunt casting.

I predict this doesn’t make it past Book 1.

This is the latest updated version of a law that's been changed a couple of times since the 1st Harry Potter movies came out in 2001.

Dress it up anyway you want, this is an overt attack on freedom. Auditioning and casting aren't entirely independent on one another, but movies, shows, etc.. have time constraints and budgets. Casting both men and women for specific roles is a needless expense. It's heavy handed and authoritarian. But Brits seem to be fine with it. Doesn't mean the rest of us have to accept it though.

If you say so, but I don't think Drinker or Nerdrotic are overly concerned about it. I mean, there's legit commentary about how woke is and will continue to to wreck cherished IPs, but if JK signed off on it, so be it. That's on her, to be honest.

I am curious, why are you ridiculing anyone for pointing out the gender and race swaps instead of the ones who are actually doing it? Fans have no input on this stuff, but can only comment. You seem more upset at them than the studios. Why?

I assure you, neither Drinker, Nerdrotic or a host of others 'pray to be accepted' by Hollywood. Drinker is an author. Nerdrotic has already done as much 'industry' as he cares to, working on editing for physical media, running a comic book store for 10 yrs, among other things. Both are quite happy to be busy what they're doing.
