I'm not sure this qualifies.

This movie has a 7.4 on IMDB and a 85% on RT. That's must watch territory.

I acknowledged that in a previous post. My thinking on this was that it strikes me as more of a niche film than a mainstream blockbuster type of movie. They never did a sequel to it and there are over twenty books of source material to pull from.

Watched this the other day and I was suprised how good it was
I knew the books, and I was pumped for the movie.

I thought it was pretty damn good, although I wish they'd actually have stuck closer to the spirit of the books. I do think it was a lot better than some 'franchise' flicks, things like the current Star Wars movies, but apparently people want to know what they're seeing going in.

I also liked the Mamoa Conan movie. I know it got crushed because no Arnold, but he actually fit the book Conan better.

Someone mentioned the Cruise Mummy film, I didn't think it was terrible. Plenty of Tom Cruise action sequences, and like was mentioned, it actually did lay out the context of that world (the Monsterverse) pretty well. Russell Crowe as Dr Jeckyll, in a covert war against 'classic movie monsters' like, I guess, the Wolfman, Dracula, Frankenstein, Invisible Man etc.
I think had they stuck with it, we'd have seen a pretty big jump in viewership once it had some movies in the series. People forget the first Terminator movie didn't blow the doors off the box office, but it laid the foundation for what followed. The Mummy could have done that too.

Another film I liked that isn't big, not sure if it qualifies as "unpopular":

Huntsman: Winter's War.

This got an 18% on RT, but if it's on, I will watch it. Note, I didn't see the Snow White and the Huntsman movie, so that might be why I liked this one.

I'm with you here. I liked Cruise's Mummy movie and was looking forward to the Monsterverse but they scrapped it without even giving it a chance.

Neighbors with Belushi and Aykroyd. Disturbingly funny.

IMDB: 47/100 critics. 5.6/10 regular citizens.

I watched this movie about five years ago, and having read the bad press, was blown away. Story-line, casting, script, effects were all top-notch. The best I can figure is that much like Serenity, people can't relate the old west and sci-fi.

Seriously think this movie is one of the most bizarre, crazy, genius films I have ever seen. Just rewatched this film after years last night, and I really want to see it again.

Cathy Moriarty makes that worth the watch.

Belushi is great as the straight man.

Dan Ackroyd is Vic.
