like a bunch of world renowned scientists would be dumb enough to write down in some records that they were fricking with pollutions numbers for their benefit. Let alone in some form or fashion that some janitors could figure it out.

just now getting caught up on this thread after watching the finale last night (couldnt get to it on Sunday). oh man. it was even worse than we thought. holy shite what a clusterfrick.
the cleaning ladies spec-ops style direct action raid on the Tsalal compound is one of the single dumbest things i've ever seen on a major television show. take away the fairly obvious girl power subtext there, and just work within the realm of reality. the cowardly men, hiding and crying while the eskimo women roll them up and take them out to die on the ice...oh come the frick on. i can see MAYBE letting them round them up and put them in a truck, but making them take their clothes off and walk to certain death and there was NO RESISTANCE? against a group of women armed with a bunch of bolt action rifles and shite? just absolute hogwash.
i've argued through most of this thread that i didnt really pick up a "woke" agenda in this show, but episode 6 makes me really rethink that. i mean you've got Navarro who gets fricking DOMED by fire extinguisher swung by a big arse dude and knocked the frick out, and then in the next scene she is inexplicably fully awake and beating the shite out of him. you've got frail, old, tiny Jodi Foster ripping a fricking steel handle off a door and smashing it through what appears to be bulletproof glass, you've got SEAL Team Laundry conducting an Abbottabad-like raid, you've got a bunch of grown arse men cowering to the Eskimo women and being totally emasculated, forced to undress, you've got the entire scene of Eskimo woman magic as they explain how they whole thing went down....just the entire fricking episode. SO SO bad.
not to mention the whole weird side quest with Rose and Prior sinking his dad's body - why? who cares? what was the big takeaway from that? why was Rose even in this show? she provided nothing other than a shoehorned tie-in with season 1.
92% fresh on RT by the way. season 1 is 91%.

Interestingly they apparently understood the mine was creating huge amounts of pollution to help the scientists but didn't think that was worth making public.

Went down a true detective S4 rabbit hole on Tik Tok last night. Absolutely blown away that 90% of the videos and comments were praising the show. Men and women. It's crazy how the majority of the people felt like the show ended nicely. I can't tell you how many videos the people were basically saying "I can't believe they answered the questions to everything" and "they really put a bow on it nicely".
Tigerdroppings is a bubble, the opinions on here aren't often what's reflected in the real world. But I honestly thought this was going to be widely hated, not widely loved.
