What did I miss?
Very intriguing show. Hate that I hate all these miserable ugly characters though.

Like I said last week, the show runner is trying so hard to connect this to season 1, with force and a splash of Dyatlov Pass
ETA: we all agree they were trying to reanimate Annie, right? Using her tongue to regrow her body cells

This is stupid. We already know carcosa and all that shite is fake and pointless from season 1

I’m surprised myself more haven't mentioned this. Almost felt like I was waiting for that name to drop somewhere.

I thought the first episode was a bit of a letdown. Maybe it was the hype that got me but I think this episode was strong. I’m excited to see where it goes and I personally like the connections to season 1

It's kind of a headscratcher why they're doing this. The only fault of S1 is that they never really went deeper on the grander conspiracy and instead wrapped it up with Childress being the fall guy for everything. It's like S4 is trying to make up for that, but I feel that ship has sailed.
And no one in this season is likeable. Maybe the cop's son? But even so, hes pretty weak. S1 had massively flawed people, but you still cared about them and were intrigued. I'd be fine if a meteor hit this town and killed everyone.

I think this episode was a good step in right direction after episode 1 let me down a lot. I'm still invested.

This carcosa stuff we already know from season 1 is nonsense. Unless they want to erase the history we already know from there
We already know there is no supernatural, there isn’t really this giant ring of power, etc. Just waste

its weird none of them talked about the screaming head that happened seconds before the opening credits.

Except for the part where she talked to the nurse and was informed that he was in a medically induced coma and they couldn't talk to him right now?

Exactly. So one of them survived? That’s what she was talking on the phone about with him having to have a leg amputated? I can’t imagine anyone would actually survive being naked and frozen in the ice for a few days.

Yes

I can't imagine a ghost showing a lady where 6 people were buried frozen, either

Put your phone down , it's only one hour without it
Much better episode than EP1 IMO. I still is setting the tone but I like getting into the investigation and being able to form some better theories. I feel like it's too early on and too obvious to be Clarke, unless there were multiple killers or maybe he just killed Annie and not the others.
Only thing that gets on my nerves is how dumb the majority of the cops are there. I get it, it's a small town and sometimes small town cops don't know what the hell they're doing and get in over their head, but the guy running in with chainsaw and the other guy taking a selfie was so stupid. After that I found myself wanting them to hand it over to Anchorage and Liz, Pete, and Navarro just keep doing their own investigation going against the Chiefs orders just so we don't have to see any more of the other cops.
I personally like the S1 call backs. Not really sure I' want them bring Rust back but it definitely peaked my interest hearing Tuttle mentioned because that was the part of S1 I would have liked some more resolution with.

quote:Thats why the show is kinda crap. Is the supernatural shite real or not? You led us down a huge rabbit hole in season 1 making it real then pulled the carpet and tried to say “silly audience this is a real world environment show”

Now, they are bringing it back heavier than ever

Theres something in the water...

So something in the water makes you see dead people that aren’t real, but the not real dead person still takes you to a remote location in the middle of nowhere right where the dead bodies are?
See, it’s bullshite. If you make the supernatural all hallucinations then the lady finding the bodies is horseshite.

Eh, you can get away with it. The natives are very superstitious and spiritual. I compare it to the show Vikings, where there's supernatural/superstitious elements based on drugs/faith.

I am fine with the supernatural being real. I am fine with shows being fake. But you have to stay true to the rules of your own created show
They aren’t at all
