For some reason Kitsch's character reminded me of James Hurley from Twin Peaks. All brooding and introverted. Am I the only one who thought that?

I had trouble following the dialogue at times. Maybe my ears just suck, but I had to rewind a few times to try and understand what they were saying. Also, it's difficult when they talk about characters we haven't met yet. The first scene in the casino made much more sense after I watched the whole thing, after knowing who Casper and Oseil (sp?) are.

All in all I liked it, and I didn't see the first season, so I don't have that reference point like the rest of you. I didn't think the characters were too clichéd. Only thing I didn't like was the complete random ways we meet Rachel's dad and sister. She obviously doesn't see them often, and yet she runs into each of them in the same day in the course of her job?

Yeah they did say they had been waiting on him when he finally arrived, and considering a body was dumped maybe it was pretty far away from the town?

Its not "town" guys. You have to understand.

LA is a fricking monstrocity that puts every other major metro to shame IMO. And that includes Chicago, Dallas and Houston. It's just insanely big.

The body was up near Ventura which is a solid 1-2 hours from Downtown LA via the PCH depending on Traffic. It's North of Malibu which in itself isn't even that close to "LA" proper.

If I had to guess (and probably be completely wrong) I'd say that Feral flips on Vaughn at the end, and by the book Kitsch flips on Feral for all he's done for Vaughn and it makes him and McAdams break up (I'm assuming they start banging eventually)

I think some people got the scene with McAdams and her boyfriend flipped around. From what I gathered, it was he that tried something on her that freaked her out, not her on him.

All I know is he's got some serious issues if he can't get it up to that slam piece as a 25-30 year old dude

It sounds like everyone already knows Ferrell is dirty though?

The next episode had "How compromised are you" as a line.

he said multiple times "is that something that you like? it just took me by surprise" or something like that

Uhh I don't think so, unless she made the move for him to do that.

He said "wait, do you do that with a lot of guys?" And other things like that like she did something he's not used to

Yeah, the "What's Venti?" (or whatever it's called) line seemed weird to me. But I guess if it's out of his jurisdiction, maybe he wouldn't know what/where it was.

I thought it was odd too. Even if the guy has no professional ties to the city, it's just right on the outskirts. I would imagine most law enforcement people in New Orleans have heard of Metairie even if they don't have to work there.

Well there's a difference between being a usual dirty cop, and impeding an investigation for a guy like Vaughn that a straight edge cop is on the same case

Read the articles about that Tim Fresh guy in Vernon California that was posted earlier in this thread....I think its really interesting that the city of Vinci seems to be based on it...Farrell says at the end when asked what is Vinci? "It's a city....supposedly"

Why? I figured I'd watch season 2, then go back and watch season 1. Seems better that way, assuming S1 is still better. Besides, I'm still in the middle of Breaking Bad.

It makes sense that Casper's eyes were destroyed when the murderer had a Crow mask. At least my initial thought on it at least.

Googled Crow pecking eyes out and got this:

Proverbs 30:17 "The eye that mocketh at his father and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it."

It's just supposed to be another city in LA County. There's hundreds of them.

Sherman Oaks, Malibu, Long Beach, Callabasas, Glendale, Eagle Rock, Pasadena, Van Nuys etc etc.

thought it was a pretty good premiere episode. The only character that I'm gunshy about is Vaughn's character, which at times seem too stiff. i dunno, it's hard to gauge him right now.

anyway, I'm gonna keep watching.

S1, for me, was very easy to keep engaged in because of the environment was familiar. any show that mentions erath/abbeville will keep my attention.

Holy shite
And I didn't pay attention to the crow mask. Wonder what else I missed. Definitely need to watch again before next week.

To be fair, S1 was a story all on its own, and S2 is a completely fresh and new story; they aren't (supposed to be) related at all.

Also, watch S1 though. It's great.

I think I do too. I was starting to doze a little bit about halfway through.
