Went back and confirmed that Marty is wearing the same shirt and tie in the interview that he is wearing when Rust pulls him over at the end. So based on that day I think we can assume it was the same day. Before or after Marty's interview I don't guess we know for sure but I'm under the impression that it was after.
Was Rust interviewed before or after Marty? I can't remember. I can see Rust getting interviewed then trying to track down Marty before he gets interviewed to make sure shite is in line.

kinda shitty that we are no where closer to the murder case other than knowing the tuttle school connections (which we already assumed). these next 2 hours are gonna be amazing television

Rust was interviewed first

I believe Rust was interviewed before.

Marty drew even with Rust with minimal effort from RC. Dude would have wrecked his shite in Crash mode.

So without Marty having any idea what is going on with the new murders, without having been interviewed already, I don't know that he would have just willingly agreed to going to have a drink with Rust.
I'm pretty sure Marty pulled his gun because he might actually believe Rust is involved with the murders at this point.

yeah that episode was kind of wasted in terms of moving the plot forward

Holy shite.. Decades of cheating by Marty is forgiven? Unreal...
Never said that. What Marty did was definitely wrong but Maggie didn't lust after Rust or have a weak moment. She purposely used him as a pawn just to get Marty to leave her. She knew how crazy Marty was and that he would likely beat the frick out of Rust

This. I remember Marty's line about how Rust was getting a "read" on the cops...

Which is why he checked to make sure his gun was loaded.

BTW, there is a sports radio guy whose name is Gerry Sandusky. Gotta feel for that poor bastard.
If I'm not mistaken he is more than just a sports radio guy, I believe he is the voice of the Baltimore Ravens.

we needed the split between rust and marty and reason why rust quit the force. i consider that plot development

marty came inside of a former whore who almost assuredly fricked nothing but straight white trash and oilfield trash
he probably raw dogged her, too

Agreed.

Yeah and the dates were on screen during the first episode. Rust was at the end of April and Marty in early May. I think it was about a week apart, but don't remember the exact dates.

Yep. That scene strongly suggests to me that Marty's meeting with Rust is before his interview with the detectives.
