what else did you want from the story?
for Errol to pin Rust to the ground and say "well uncle Tuttle did this to me, so I did this because of it, and the black stars mean this, and the swirl means this, and I talk in other voices because of this, and..." so forth

But it didn't. They only showed the resolution of one player in the game.
Exactly. And after so much build up that we were going deeper we barely scratched the surface. That's a letdown. I actually like that it didn't end with everyone going to jail in some cliche cheesy montage type way. That doesn't mean I'm okay with the show giving up on the conspiracy and motives.

I just really hate how this show portrayed women and minorities.
I just really hate how this show portrayed former LSU baseball players.

There was no more talk of taking down the cult or making people pay. They were content that the cult died with the halfbreed.
they weren't content that the cult totally died out...they left it in Papania's hands at that point. he had all of their evidence along with several national and local news outlets having a ton of material to follow up on if there were interested in exposing any remaining elements of the cult.

You might want to add a rollseyes to that. Some people need their hand held through sarcasm.

still doesn't cover it all for me. I want a 30 minute scene of Papania reading the secret cult handbook word for word describing in detail the rituals, the history, the initiatiions,etc...also a flashback scene of Sam Tuttle buying the property and a montage of the construction of carcosa. then it fades out with end credits except they aren't credits, they are the names and addresses of all known cult members

Some folks on here sound pissed that Marty & Rust didn't die in Carcosa.

but the murder case was plenty developed.
Why kill her?
Why use her in a ritual?
What was the ritual for?
What did all the "stuff" on/around her mean?
Who was actually involved in the killing? Display?
What role did the drugs play?
Why Ledoux?
Was this only for errol or was this part of the entire clan?
Etc

Or you could choose to believe that the series will pick up season 2 where 1 left off and not believe the interviews about season 2 begin separate.

Good point. I'll edit.

If that's the case I will retract all of my criticism.

Yeah, I've disagreed with SFP on most everything about the merits of the show but to say that things have been "explained" is definitely overstating things.
Now, you may or may not have a problem with the lack of explanation but, for me, the ending did kind of cross the line from "fill in the blanks" to "be an unpaid co-writer of the show".
Overall, the show gets an A from me, though.

I want to go back to the construction of the civil war era fort and explore just how it was allowed to become transformed into Carcosa over time. It can be Glory meets True Detective, which would be glorious.

I'm sure there will be a True Detectives visual dictionary published in time for Christmas.

Just wait until MM's 465pg reconstruction of RC's life comes out.

I want the True Detective coloring book where every page starts out all black and you have to add the light.
