And it shouldn’t have been close. I think it’s quite possibly the best animated film of all time. frick Pixar for making a 4th and now a 5th

I'll honestly admit i teared up in that scene and the very end when he gives up Woody.
That was easily top three all time animated movie. Top 10 movie all time.

TS 1 came out when i was 5
TS 3 game out when i was like 19-20ish

so i tracked andy’s age relatively close way for the first 3 movies

TS3 hit the nostalgia buttons hard when i first saw it, but having watched it with my child, it’s may be a little too heavy at times for a kids movie.

I still enjoy it but 1 and 2 are perfect family movies.

Tarentino thought it was by far the best picture that year.

Movie is greatness.

Toy Story 4 is awesome too. And I'm sure 5 will be good as well.

The problem is that they ended things so perfectly with 3. So the new ones aren't necessary, but they are good. But the ending of 3 when he gives them to another kid so they'll get played with for years, while also playing with them one last time was just SO frickING great.

The specials they've made have also been really good (TS of Terror, TS that Time Forgot), and the little cartoon shorts/short films have as well (i.e. Hawaiian Vacation). And they've shown that the care about the quality of Toy Story so much that they only put out bangers. So I will watch them as long as they make them.

Social Network and Inception are really the only 2 nominees that you hear much about anymore. Idk who out there ever rewatched the King's Speech lol

Toy Story 3 was incredible and pretty much a perfect ending. I didn't want them to make another and thought it was pretty dumb to continue when you finished so strong. I remember thinking how dumb it was to make a 4th.

Then I watched it, and if you can get over not wanting another one, Toy Story 4 is a really great film. TS3 had a perfect ending for everyone but 4 really was a perfect Story arc for Woody. Woody had been a great, but selfish character for most of the series. TS4 made Woody come for circle and realize that not everything is about him and he was willing to give up for others. It's really a great movie.

Just like I didn't want a 4th, I think a 5th is pretty dumb too. But hopefully it'll prove me wrong again.

same. I didn't have high expectations going into the 3 thinking I was too cool or it was a cash grab. Then I was floored from the first scene on.

Not with Inception and The Social Network there in the category. TS3 wouldn’t have been in the BP category if the Academy kept the nominees at 5. Black Swan and The Fighter were also better than TS3 and would’ve rounded out the category alongside The King’s Speech.

TS3’s plot is totally recycled from TS2. I wouldn’t have voted for it for animated feature either. How to Train Your Dragon should’ve won. Now, that’s a movie that hits me in the feels every time.

Pixar will do that. I can’t watch the opening of Up without falling apart. I’m serious.

just on the whole, Up is a really brutal movie.

if the house doesn’t last exactly where they painted it on the falls, idk if i even break even emotionally.

I’m a few years behind you, but Toy Story 3 was made for us. It wasn’t really a kids movie first, it was supposed to be for those of us that grew up with Toy Story and in that time period
