She was cast to help the box office take in china. That whole sub plot exists to appeal to Chinese audiences.
And they’re going to hate it because she makes out with a black guy. Will Smith is the only acceptable black person in their eyes.

regardless it doesnt crack the top 20-25 issues with this movie

Can’t they just go with likable characters first? I mean even the haters love Rey. She’s a very likable character that’s done well. But a fat Asian chick saying that rich people are to blame for everything evil? frick you, and it’s especially hypocritical being delivered by a bunch of rich people.
The problem isn't women or diversity; it's that it's forced and it completely disrupts the narrative.
Rose's character was written to advance diversity for diversity sake; she does nothing to advance the story

Ya know, I have to give the SJW's and feminist credit though.
In previous attempts to promote their cause through movies, I feel like audiences rejected them for the most part. Partly b/c the movies were bad, and partly b/c a part of the population just doesn't care for the virtue signaling.
So they took freaking STAR WARS! And there is really not a damn thing that the opposition part of society can do about it, b/c it will never fail. The franchise is already to ingrained. I just don't see how any release could ever fail with that brand and Disney promoting.
So this is what Star Wars will be moving forward. We should stop feigning surprise. And, admittedly, I'll watch it. As will most of the posters actively bitching about it.

I am! But I was also able to learn that life is more enjoyable if others don't try to ruin something I like with negative opinions and vice versa.
Good, let the force move through you. You are almost there
The masses liked Star Wars as it was. Others ruined it with their negative opinions about males, and white people.
Why didn't they just start a new female led franchise, instead of going negative with this one?
You know why

Yeah they're to piss off everyone.
Hollywood has always been tone deaf because they believe what they want is what everyone should want.
But Star Wars is the perfect vehicle to SJW because everyone is going to see it regardless.

The funny thing about this thread is:
SPOILERS
SPOILERS
One of if not the #1 problem with this movie is Rey, who i thought was supposed to be the new hero for this franchise, was basically a supporting character and almost completely sidelined for the finale.
TLJ should have been almost entirely about Rey and Kylo and while thats in there it's developed about half as much as it should have because they decided to make Luke, the same old white male protagonist, the defacto main character.

because there are way too many characters in the movie.
Well that too
And I might not have minded so much Luke had the character Mark Hamill was playing actually resembled Luke Skywalker.

2, 1, 2, 2, 4
Go home 3.
2 again for good measure.

The movie isn't here to Make the Galaxy Great Again. It's to tell the stories of the people who want to actually fix it
Way to shoehorn some Trump hate in a movie about space aliens fighting.
This seriously reads like some weird SJW fantasy, but it doesn't mean that was the intention for the film.

HERE IS A scene in Star Wars: The Last Jedi—I won’t say too much, but you'll see it yourself—where a young Asian woman does a brave, selfless thing to help the Resistance. It’s a very sweet, very Star Wars Hero Moment, but it's also an important one. Los Angeles Times film writer Jen Yamato called out its significance for fans of color on Twitter, noting “films like these leave their mark on entire generations—representation matters.”
We are living in an idiocracy.
