also think The Sopranos is ranked far too high. But admittedly that’s because I missed the boat on it and finally watched it for the first time a couple years ago. I liked it a lot, and there were times when I just thought “man, this show is good.” But it also felt really dated and a lot of it missed me. But I assume I’d have felt differently had I watched it when it aired.

Disagree. I recently rewatched it and thought it had held up wonderfully.

Way too much recency bias. I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, The Andy Griffith Show, Gunsmoke?

Agreed.

Also it's a little before my time, but how is M*A*S*H not on this list? I remember that show being pretty big when I was a kid.

List definitely has recency bias...here is how my top 20 would fall:

1. Band of Brothers
2. Justified
3. The Sopranos
4. The Wire
5t. Cheers
5t. Breaking Bad
7. The Andy Griffith Show
8. M*A*S*H
9. The Prisoner10. All in the Family
10. Arrested Development
11. Game of Thrones (last season dropped it considerably)
12. The Good Place
13. Magnum P.I. (the original)
14. South Park
15. Mad Men
16. The X-Files
17. The Office
18. Seinfeld
19. Friends
20. Six Feet Under
21. Star Trek (Original)
22. St. Elsewhere
23. Taxi
24. Parks & Rec
25. The Twilight Zone

This is a crappy list, as well...it's my crappy opinion, and if I thought about it for a couple of hours and came back, it would probably look totally different. Still Band of Brothers is the best thing to ever be on TV. That's the hill I will die on.

I watched an old episode of the Honeymooners last night. Norton is offered a job to work at the bus company as Ralph’s supervisor. Great stuff…

And don’t forget rhe original Twilight Zone.

Heated Rivalry? The gay hockey show? How is this top 20? That’s comical. Also, the Pitt that has had 1 season.
Lost overall not bad but these really taint it.

Shows currently airing get the benefit of not having the chance to have crappy seasons. Halfway through Game of Thrones it would have been the highest rated show ever, until it wasn't. Probably should have left on air shows off the list. I have some complaints but overall not the worst list I've ever seen.

Thanks.. really appreciate it. Especially since I did not make the list. This list was compiled by going through the internet and checking review numbers for each show and then it ranked it from highest to lowest.

I was loving Breaking Bad until the episode where Walt was tripping out in the lab trying to kill a fly. That one episode annoyed me so much that I stopped watching it. I just couldn't get back into it after that episode. Yes, I am an idiot

Self-awareness is good. Finish the show, my friend.

“”The Prisoner” from the 70’s was a great series. Mysterious and unpredictable. Ahead of its time and a precursor of adventurous series of the 2000’s.

Freaks and Geeks is good, but it really isn't that good. It probably could've been but it's insane to have it at #18

That episode is followed by the greatest 32 episode run in television

You do realize my post was a response to what you said below, right?

It is insane to write off a show like Breaking Bad because of one bottle episode. Finish it.

Lost belongs on it

the first souple seasons maybe. it was pretty clear the writers had no fricking idea what they wanted to do with that show and it suffered badly.

12. The Good Place
Interesting that you have The Good Place over the other Schur shows. I enjoy it for sure and just did a rewatch, but I have Parks and maybe even B99 (last season meh) over it.

I generally hate all these type of lists, but yours is better than the original one.

For comedies, I know a lot of recency bias, but Sanford and Son as old school, Community, Arrested Development, Scrubs and Parks would definitely be on my list somewhere, and that’s no slight to the other great and acknowledged comedies, just personal preference.

List is crap. At least 45 of the 50 would not make my personal list.
Where is:
Andy Griffith
IT Crowd
King of Queens
I Love Lucy
Cheers
All in the Family
Derry Girls
Queens Gambit
The Penguin
Frasier
(not on my list but surprised the didn't include Everybody Loves Raymond, Home Improvement, or BBT)
