Gene mentioned this to the old lady? When?

He didn't. He says it to Jeff. I think she is involved in a ratting him out angle. Her animosity and then turn to "love" Gene isn't for nothing. Maybe she does some research and then leans on Jeff and he spills beans to her. Don't know but him saying it is of significance.

I think gene leaves Omaha tbh and we may never see these people again

I Would like to see Kim's reaction to seeing the Walter White story with Saul unfold on television. Surely she has an opinion and is probably worried about him.

This is exactly why I will miss this universe. No matter how I try to figure it out I can't and, like somebody said in one other threads, we all knew what was going to go down with Lalo and Gus and it still was awesome. Masters of their craft.

Never even occurred to me that could happen. Damn!

There was a car at a crossroads during the outro. So...

Which raises a question. When exactly in the post BB-Gene timeline did that episode of American Greed air? Was it before this business with Jeff and Marion?

We now know why Howard Hamlin wasn’t interviewed. Kim was featured, but if she wasn’t totally vacuumed and living only a halfway anonymous life, she would have been interviewed.

I think it’s significant she was not interviewed on that American Greed episode.

November 12th is when Saul told Francesca to be ready to answer the pay phone in the episode when he quickly cleared his office. It’s also his 50th birthday, just like WW on BB pilot episode. This Gene episode took place in October (including the Martinez 400+ yard game haha)…so we should find out what the call is for soon.

how funny would it be if Walt and Jesse appeared….but in black & white seeking out Gene.

Walt is dead in the Gene timeline.

I suppose that's where I have Jeffie pegged as someone familiar with the legal system. He has to know that Saul is a way bigger fish for the feds than a pair of tools that stole some sneakers.

But what does he get out of it? There has to be a bigger payoff than just not getting prosecuted.

She wasn't an attorney several years ago when her timeline occurred. In the Gene timeline? Who knows.

Thanks.

Yeah, I watched that part at work and completely didn't catch that. Definitely not smart of Gene to mention that.

Gene's timeline is many years after the Lalo/Howard incident. She could obviously decide to return to practicing the law at anytime.

Do we know definitively how much time has passed between BB and Gene?

We know Taylor Martinez' freshmen year was 2010.

There's a start

Very valid point.

Reward money, maybe?

Have they said why they didn't use the same actor for the cabbie role? It took me a few minutes to realize they were making him the same guy as before (kinda like the two Darren's on Bewitched).

Okay, I didn’t catch that. Things went to hell for Walter and Saul in March 2010 when WW got vacuumed to New Hampshire and Saul to Omaha.

Only seven months as Gene before the Jeff-Marion heist. I had the impression he’d been Gene for a couple years before he yielded to his Saul swag.

He's shooting another show and they couldn't make the days work so they had to replace him.

I don’t think we will see her again. Her taking to Gene after being so cold to everyone else was just their way of showing that Slippin Jimmy still has his charm. I also think him making a reference to Walt was just fan service.

The Carol Burnett cameo not being very significant is what great shows have the balls to do. Most shows who get a big name to do a cameo will try to shoehorn them into a major plot point. Great shows don’t, IMO.
