Sabotaging his 7-year deal was lame, though.

It would've been interesting if he'd gotten the 7 year deal and the show ended with Kim picking him up on the day he got out

*I did enjoy the defiance of the prisoners’ chant on the bus. Usually the theme is a cop-lawyer-Rorschach going to prison who put many of them in there and the prisoners want to shank him.

They recognized Saul defended them and at least everyone has his back for what is essentially a life sentence.

*You must admit that Saul did one final screw job—this one on Bill Oakley. Ole Bill would have been credited for that seven year plea down, what the judge rightly called “the most generous sentencing recommendation I’ve seen in 22 years on the bench.” Bill’s defense business would have skyrocketed.

The 86 year sentence will NOT help Bill’s business. Lol

*Damn. I would have LOVED to have seen Walter White sue Elliott and Gretchen Swartz/Gray Matter Technologies with Saul Goodman as his lawyer.

*All of you expecting fireworks and explosions and some giant new revelation—remember this is a BB prequel of how Jimmy McGill became Saul Goodman. We found that out and it was great television. The Gene epilogue was lagniappe. I thought it was a fitting end to our time in the Breaking Bad universe.

Remember the saying “It’s not the destination, it’s the journey.” That’s true of any great book or television series. And you must admit, we got closure.

* I am glad that Kim Wexler survived and Jesse Pinkman (likely) survived the BB/BCS gauntlet. They were the hearts and consciences of their two series.

* And yes, the door has slammed shut on Ham Solo. He could not have been more wrong. This was likely the biggest crash and burn, not just on the Movie/TV board, but in Tigerdroppings history.

I liked it. For a second there when he asked to be called McGill I thought they might try to claim he's a schizophrenic or some bullshite. That would've been lame

When they were smoking the cigarette and Kim was halfway covered by a shadow again I was wondering if Ham was gonna chime in lol

Anyone thought he was about to get whacked when the fat guy in front of him was sweating? It seemed like it was cold on the bus.
I thought the fat guy was gonna turn around and kill him somehow.

They ended it about as good as they could given the creative decisions they made in the Gene timeline. In hindsight they should have ended the show when Kim left but they didn't. Once we went full Gene I was scared it was going to a massive drop off, but they did save it with Saul confessing to save Kim.

I thought Walt and Jesse's characters were very poorly acted through all of these episodes. I guess it's hard to get back into character after so long. Marie and Chuck did great though.

Was there some significance to Chuck reading the time machine book and all the time machine discussions that im missing?

She wouldn't have picked up Saul though.

Other than "cleansing himself", I didn't see any benefit from him blowing up his deal. He didn't save Kim from a civil suit it didn't appear.

Just an attempt at showing redemption. blah

That's kinda where my gripe lies. Once they shot off the fireworks midseason there was really nowhere to go but sort of "let" it end

I was satisfied with the finale. The snippets with Mike, Walter and Chuck just made me appreciate the totality of the show even more. I loved Breaking Bad and was beyond skeptical when they spun off Saul's character. Boy was I wrong. Better Call Saul was even better than Breaking Bad.

You’re entitled to your opinion.

However, your opinion on what is essentially the epilogue of BCS sucks and is arguably just as bad as Ham Solo’s theories.

I thought we would finally get some color as he’s transported to New Mexico but alas it ended gray and sad like the last few episodes. He gets to be the Brooks of the joint, becomes institutionalized and runs the kitchen instead of a library. I assume Kim stays in Albuquerque and restarts her career as a lawyer which is the only happy thing to happen and that’s not a forgone conclusion.

I kinda thought he might get whacked on the basketball court in the closing scene. Having the big guy come toward him from behind had to be a deliberate teaser.
