THR: Rey is “the most valuable SW cinematic asset”

Anonymous sources close to Star Wars told The Hollywood Reporter as much, suggesting Disney puts more stock in the Sequel Trilogy star than, for example, Pedro Pascal's The Mandalorian or Original Trilogy protagonist Luke Skywalker, portrayed by Mark Hamill. "She is the most valuable cinematic asset, in some ways maybe the only one, Star Wars has right now," the source said. Various sources said Rey is set to play a role in several of the incoming Star Wars films though didn't clarify which ones.

I hope they really do this next trilogy right - spend up to $1.5B (American money) on those 3 movies and really do the Rey story justice.

sigh
I'd watch a Chewbacca movie before a Rey film

You could go to any pre-Disney Star Wars convention and any random fan you grabbed would do a better job with the franchise than these people have done. Has to be the most high-stakes mismanaged IP in all of entertainment history.

well in fairness to THR - they managed to fricking kill or ruin all the rest of the SW assets, so aside from maybe Poe - they are correct - she is the most valuable.....she is also about all there is.
the only way to maybe turn it around is to make the most epic SW movie with Mando and Grogu - cause aside from there - there really is nothing to breathe life into it - aside from maybe Thrawn - but i feel they will frick him up also.

I can’t even be bothered to talk about how stupid they are anymore. They’ve chosen this path and it’s the path with a lot less revenue. Star Wars died a long time ago in a galaxy far away.

They killed all the best ones.

I mean, when that's the only character you have left. You killed off Luke Skywalker and Han Solo; Carrie Fisher is dead in real life. No one cares about Finn after you destroyed any potential for a decent arc in Last Jedi. Rose Tico is so bad of a character she's given Jar Jar Binks a run for his money. Billy Dee Williams is too old and was brought back for nostalgia purposes in Rise of Skywalker and James Earl Jones is no longer with us to voice Darth Vader.
It's either Rey or Poe Dameron. There is no one else.

She's not the worst, she's not the best, but in general she's just super forgettable.

uh, thats like saying George Clooney is slated to be in a bunch of new Oceans movies, we just dont know which ones
Isnt movie profits mainly based on movie hype. Ya know premieres, interviews, screenings, sightings, leaks, etc? So the way you hype the preeminent Star Wars star is not to hype one single movie she might be attached to?
Lulz
Its simply a trial balloon. Except they used water instead

I can’t understand how these people can actually believe this…
And I know; they are just trying to build hype. They don’t really believe it.
But here’s the thing. They do. They thought Kamala was gonna win. They think that they can create reality with words. Despite CONSTANTLY failing.
I want good Star Wars. But in the absence of that, I’m good with watching them drop billions on a box office dud.

And whose fault is that? The sad thing is that it’s probably an accurate statement. What an indictment of disney.

Keep the most valuable SW cinematic asset the hell away from Andor.
