So is literally everyone that thinks the 5 seconds of Korg holding hands with "some dude named Duane" is Disney's masterplan at turning the world gay.

It was not bad, just not good. It was a good popcorn movie, just do not think about it too much and it is ok.

This board cannot go five seconds without getting their religous or political feelsings mixed in with entertainment. Valkyrie shows internet in another women it’s a gay conspiracy, Korg is gay means it’s big gay at again, Greek Gods act like Greek Gods well that just means they want to frick kids.

Funny how they don’t throw a fit when it’s just straight relationships

FIFY. And fixed a few spelling things.

i don't harp on the woke stuff. Thor didn't bother me at all, but let's not act like Hollywood isn't doing a whole overrepresentation because of underrepresentation thing right now.

if sane people on the left (I include you) would just admit "yeah, these groups have been underrepresented for a while and it's kinda dumb, but they are a bit overrepresented right now in this weird era. It will even out," then the snowflakes on the right would probably STFU. i think those on the left that dig their feet in probably cause the overreaction more than the actual occurrence.

but instead it's, "you're being ridiculous. it's not happening." "it's just a couple of lines about being gay. stop making a big deal about it." "it was just a gay kiss." "you should be totally fine with this." "you're a bigot for noticing."

Does it matter who started a bad thing if everyone is just going to emulate a bad thing?

Han shot first bro.

I’ve repeated this ad nauseam. If the left would stop pushing stupid culture war bullshite in everything the right would stop fighting stupid culture war bullshite battles. The left can stop any time.

The left could put Daily Wire, Breitbart, Clay Travis, Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, Barstool, etc. out of business if they would just stop trying to cross the rubicon and move the Overton Window but they can’t help themselves. Those institutions’ rise is solely due to the left’s inability to step back and recalculate.

Or we could acknowledge that in Thor, every "gay" thing is included specifically to get a laugh. There is no representation in this movie. Korg is the butt of a joke.

I finally saw the movie, and I enjoyed it. I don’t think it’s better than Ragnarok, but I like it more than the first two entries.

Now I kind of scanned the thread, and I may have missed it, but has nobody discussed that this movie is a visual retelling from the perspective of Korg, and as a unreliable narrator some things are likely embellished/exaggerated? I know that’s not the taste for some people, but it makes the movie make more sense, and is even more enjoyable, imo.

Hollywood isn’t stopping either. It will never end. You just want us to shut up and take your gay cocks like good little sheeple

Consensus from the audience scores and decrease in ticket purchases seems to be emerging. A real fall off in overall popularity and profits

It should still make money but way less than it should have and much less than they have in the past. It's fine. The MCU as a movie industry has jumped the shark.

Saw it last night. Per usual, this board is outrageous. Gay and colored people watch these movies too and Disney found out they enjoy seeing something they can relate to God help M/TV when Black Panther 2 comes out this fall.

It wasn’t as good as Ragnarok but clearly the 2nd best Thor movie. Wish the Guardians would’ve been a bit more involved but understand that would’ve added an hour to the runtime.

Gorr was good but agree it felt like we didn’t get enough. Oddly I think the premise of this movie would make a great limited D+ series (4 episodes or something) although I know the big stars wouldn’t go for it.

I appreciate Thor recognizing that Mjolnir’s a stickler for terms and conditions when giving the kids his powers

The kids all being good fighters was the only thing that really bothered me. I liked that Natalie came back to reprise

This type of sentiment underlies a lot of apologies or explanations for identity based content. It is strange that people saying this don't seem to think through and accept the implications.

Specifically, if gay people only want to see (or minimally strongly prefer) gay content doesn't this imply straight people should also lobby for and only support (or preferentially support) straight content? I don't think this is a good idea

When the identity based narratives become the purpose of material? The politics and rights to demand (or at a minimum prefer) identity based content will extend to everyone. That's why identity based content is undesirable (at least for widespread appeal). It is fundamentally unequal and stokes the tendency of people to segregate into groups and discriminate against others.

A gay rock creature completely made of rocks in a fictional universe is "Relatable" ? Wow. Really stretching here.

Was thinking along the lines of Valkyrie but go off king.

I don’t disagree with your sentiment, but this board watching any movie that features people of color sounds like they’ve been sentenced to the electric chair. It can cut both ways.

Hollywood clearly has picked their horse and that is going to obviously piss a lot of people off, but simultaneously make a lot of people happy. I don’t think it’s a right or wrong decision, just one that had to be made eventually. And since America is trending less white, seems like a choice out of self preservation

Cutting both ways is a losing (or at least suboptimal) proposition if you are a movie studio in the business of making money. You want a broad audience buy in irrespective of their political biases.

I fail to see how Valkyrie being bi and Korg being gay is a problem that’s literally two characters in a massive roster of others. And while sometimes movies may sacrifice writing for a chance at hitting the identity politics bingo it’s way less of a problem then many here pretend it is. Also the talks about some massive gay agenda or pedophiles is just asinine garbage
