This movie was, in large part, geared to appeal to small children yet they have a fully nude man (from the back), multiple mentions of orgies, reference to lesbianism, promotion of males having sex and promotion of two "daddies" somehow giving birth to a "son".

This from a company who has retcon'd multiple characters in their comics over the last decade-ish to make them gay/bi/trans/whatever.

It wasn't a huge part of the movie, but it was noticeable for it's inclusion despite being completely irrelevant to the story.

Don't blame the messengers.

This was my biggest issue with the movie. They sacrificed good storytelling for checking boxes to appease certain groups, and those scenes have nothing to do with the actual story and the scene discussing orgies is completely inappropriate for children.

It came off as a joke. There were a ton of jokes that don’t advance the story. Didn’t see anything wrong with it. It took 10 seconds. The problem was this movie felt like 20 pretty good scenes with 4 really funny ones and 4 really sad, deep ones jumbled together with no real coherency or sense of purpose. Gorr never felt like he had the upper hand. His arc was never fully fleshed out. Jane or Valkarie never felt in danger in a fight. They couldn’t even kill off Korg for more than 20 seconds.

Matt Damon sucked balls in this movie.

After watching the movie previews, it is obvious why Maverick is kicking everyones arse. All the upcoming movies looked like shite.

Whoof some of y’all just need to stop watching movies and go to a spa retreat

The korg gay stuff shouldn’t have been in there, other than that I loved it.

Screaming goats hitting the planet had me rolling.

How “gay” is this movie? Little STLDawg is a big Thor fan but I don’t want to have to deal with that.

People talking about Korg being gay cracks me up. The fact that he’s a living rock is fine but having a gender and reproductive process that involves 2 dudes is where people say it’s not normal? Plus if all of his species are dudes then he’s not gay by definition sinces there’s not another gender

Movie was a hoot. I hate all the Disney SJW garbage also but it wasn’t a big factor in this movie. It seems many on this board are just looking for a reason to hate this movie.

Really for me, the dumbest SJW thing is having a black woman “king” of Asgard. Ok fine, the leader of Asgard has to be a black woman bc of course it does. If only there was some word for a woman monarch…

Nah it wasn’t an alien race so they different thing, definitely thrown in there for the grooming. Valkyrie with gf wasn’t a big deal as she fought with those women and it’s way more believable. Nobody knew there were only men and no backstory with the rock people. A more appropriate way of doing it would have been “we don’t have what you call men or women in our race, everybody is the same gender. We go to the lava pits and make our babies by getting our rocks off” see that doesn’t mean gay and it’s funny

Tried too hard to be funny. The first half of the movie was mostly a waste of time.

Zeus skipping around in a skirt was kind of sad. Isn't he like the strongest of the gods? Oh and Russell Crow looked more like Robert Baratheon than Zeus.

Wondered how Jane would get her "powers'. I guess this theory works. And as it turns out, the hammer was both helping AND hurting her?

That said, were there 2 different actors playing the Jane with and without the helmet?

Now, we are going to get a Thor vs Hercules movie? That could be fun.

Missed the second post credit piece. Apparently Jane was welcomed into Valhalla as "Mighty Thor"?

I hate the SJW shite as much as the next guy, but some of y'all take the shite too far. Everyone was making a big deal of the Valkyrie lesbian thing and it turned out to be literally a two second mention in a conversation that was really nothing. This film wasn't really woke at all, compared to all the other crap that comes out these days. The woke stuff or lack thereof wasn't my problem with the movie.

The only problems I had were that I wanted to see more of Gorr and the GotG part was really short and felt like they could've done more with it. Also kinda annoying how Thor is just pure comedic relief at this point. He is funny and I like that side of him, but I also want him to be a serious hero when the moment calls for it. Those moments felt unnecessarily cheesy and forced for some reason. Also weird that Zeus was such a scared bitch when it came to Gorr, but now he's ready to go to war with Thor, the guy that stopped Gorr? And where was Hercules in the omnipotent city scene? I am excited about that potential storyline though(Thor vs Hercules).

But overall, I really enjoyed the movie. I was worried I wasn't gonna like the Jane as Mighty Thor storyline, but it was actually well done and wrapped up nicely.

Also, the screaming goats were fricking hilarious. Like I couldn't stop laughing everytime they came into the scene, with that ridiculous scream.

It was a fun movie. Not as good as Ragnorok, but still very enjoyable and worth the watch as a MCU fan. There are problems with the movie, but the wokeness wasn't one of them imo.

I agree with all that. It was overall a fun movie. And isn’t that the most important thing in a movie like this?

I would’ve like more of the Guardians too. Really, based on Infinity War, I thought Thor and the guardians were going to team up and have rollicking adventures. But the way it was portrayed here also makes sense. Thor is massively more powerful than any of the guardians. He can whip all of them combined. So it’s not surprising that he dominated their missions and left them without much to do which resulted in less camaraderie.

Movie was just bad. It's like they decided to make an action comedy and it mostly just fell flat.

This movie was cheesy and campy. It had quirks.

WTF do you people expect. It is science fiction movie based on a comic book based on Norse mythology.

Do you realize kids learn about Greek Mythology in grade school... and you know what is brought up in that learning? The orgies, multiple wives and gayness of the ancient Greeks. It isn't grooming, its historical information.

The goats were great.

Pros:

Gorr was a fantastic villain for what time he was on screen, sucks that he died but still remains an upper tier Marvel villain

The fight in the Shadow Realm was one of my favorite fights in the MCU, was just really cool overall and everything being black and white added to it.

They handled the Jane becoming Thor storyline pretty well and gave her a nice sendoff although she’ll likely be back in some form eventually.

The soundtrack was solid as well too although I’m pretty sure they played Sweet Child twice

The Gods as well as Zeus were played pretty accurately with them all being lazy assholes who don’t give a shite about anything other then drinking and fricking

We get to see Hercules at the end which will be great

Cons

The constant shift in tone gave me whiplash at times especially between serious scenes and comedic scenes. Perfect example was Thor and Jane joking around right after all the kids were taken

The runtime needed to be about 30 minutes longer especially in regards to the Gorr scenes.

Gorr felt underdeveloped at times while he was still a great villain the switch to wanting to kill all Gods was weirdly sudden and not being able to see him slaughter any of the Gods was disappointing

It’s just a part of their characters not some grand conspiracy.

Greek Gods would literally sleep with everything, Valkyrie is bisexual not that should really matter, and gay parents exist.

TL:DR you’re a pearl clutching douche canoe who relies on tired stereotypes to justify your freak out

Agreed that he could have been more menacing but I feel like he was one of the more relatable villains, all be it, not as fleshed out as it could have been.

I was a few drinks in, but I didn’t completely understand the scene in front of eternity. After rereading the wiki summary, completely got it. The fact that Thor, as a god, had answered the call of his people, and instead of killing Gorr, chose to spend Jane’s last moments holding her. Then taking in the resurrected Daughter was a really touching arc.

It honestly was top 3 most moving moments in MCU, but is a little overshadowed by the ridiculous first half (which I laughed most of the way through.)

Really though, Thor could’ve instantly zapped Gorr with lightning and then still spend time with Jane
