Thor Love and Thunder... About those "guns"

There's been a lot of supposition that Natalie Portman's "guns" are digitally enhanced for this character.
Watching this behind the scenes short and I see that she has small red dots on her arms in all of the shots. I wonder if those are CGI markers?
Personally, I'm OK with Jane taking on the mantle of a "Thor" like figure. IF it's written in a way that makes sense for the story. If it's more of the Disney STRONG INDEPENDENT WOKE WOMYN bullshite, then they can frick off.
I really hope it's not.
But based off of the other recent Star Wars and Marvel Disney abortions, I'm afraid it probably is.
Watch, Jane will be better at everything than Thor, and he will be the bumbling comic relief.

I mean I didn't expect her to get jacked for this role

I'm expecting this movie to take a huge woke step back from Ragnarok. I hope it's good, but at this point it's clear they're just trying to elevate female characters at the expense of male characters.

From everything I've seen this movie will be an all time MCU movie which is saying something because they rarely miss. I don't think they will push woke shite at all

I’m not. We have Thor. He is a specific character. Not every character needs to be a “mantle” that is passed around. Although I understand the advantages for writers.

You tards will literally melt at anything that’s slightly different plus Hemsworth has already stated he isn’t going anywhere and we’re still unsure about Portman.

I never understood the take in the comics of her becoming "Thor" except for the fact that the comics were titled "Thor".
His actual title and/or mantle is "God of Thunder", so if they had said she was the Goddess of Thunder that would have made more sense than saying she was "Thor" - but I also get that it might have been more of a marketing decision (as "Thor" is what is on the cover of the comics, not "God of Thunder").

1. Thor is half comic relief half one of the greatest fighters in the MCU. Trailers have a ton of both.
2. I think This is going to be incredible. Thor not only has to deal with his ex girlfriend but also his ex hammer.

Wasn’t there a picture of her walking around set a few weeks back where she sure looked like she beefed up a fair bit?

Whosoever shall hold this hammer, if they be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.
This has been "set up" from the first movie.
Now, that seems to run contrary to what happened in Ragnarok (are you the god of hammers?), but maybe not. Odin said that the hammer helped him focus his power, but was not the source. So, it would stand to "reason" (to the extent that can be applicable in a comic book movie) that if she's worthy to hold the hammer, she would have his power while she wields it.

i knew the MCU was immersive, but didn't know we were going that far into other cinematic universes these days.

Unless she takes roids it would be really difficult. She likely has your typical flabby arms for a 40 year old woman.

They need to start doing this for the male action stars. The juicing is out of control.

You mean to tell me there's fricking CGI in superhero movies?!?!?!?!?!?
Posted on 6/29/22 at 1:07 pm to TygerTyger
She legit worked out hard for this movie, I'll give her that. Never expected her to go roid pump or anything so CGI on top of what she built is fine and appropriate.

Those aren’t red dots because that wouldn’t make sense, but yes, those are visual effects dots for sure. Her arms were likely enhanced.

Valkyrie is "King".
Jane is "Thor".
"Thor" is comic relief.
If you can't/won't see this, I can't help you.

Well, Marvel already has turned Thor into a screaming 8th grade girl in "Ragnarok" and a burned-out, fat loser in "Endgame". Might as well finish him off in this movie.
