This is an actual line from X-Men: Dark Phoenix

Spoken by Jennifer Lawrence's character, Mystique:
"It's funny, I can't actually remember the last time you were the one risking something. And, by the way, the women are always saving the men around here, you might want to think about changing the name to X-Women!"
Here's a link to the full clip below:

I'm actually 99.9% convinced that Lawrence ad-libbed that final line on the spot. For one...it comes right out of left field. Unless the clip has been chiseled down, there is absolutely nothing that prompts this line. It's also terribly delivered and belted out less confidently than her other lines in this particular scene.

Looks like they did great with the first two of this grouping then fell off a cliff with the last two.

Stan Lee created X-Men. He can call it whatever he wants. Want your own title? Be a creator.

If they were going to push the feminism angle they probably shouldn’t make a movie about a woman who has so much cray-cray she loses control and tries to kill her friends.

What's funny is Quicksilver is the only one I ever remember doing anything of note in any of these movies since his debut. X-Silver!

Apocalypse was trying to possess Xavier. He used himself as bait.

I mean it's widely known this movie is going to suck regardless. If you have to find other stuff to get all melty about besides just the fact this movie is going to be terrible in general then have fun there chief.

Let's be real, this movie is going to suck regardless of what agenda is pushed. The only X men movie from Fox I have liked is Logan. Deadpool is good but I don't really lump him into these movies.
By the way what happened to Jennifer Lawrence? She was loved by almost everybody in her Hunger Games days?

First the women take our bump stocks and silencers and now they take our comic book movies

I can't actually remember the last time you were the one risking something.
He is forced to choose to give up his ability to walk again in the second movie.
He challenges Apocalypse to a head on psychic battle in the 3rd movie.
The only movie where a female saves the day is the 3rd one and that’s when Jean goes Phoenix mode.

Risked his life to save Moira, lost his legs, and lost Moira, risked his life to stop her from getting taken by Trask and living in captivity, and lost his legs again. Risked his life to save all of them against Apcolypse, lost his hair.
She needs to STFU or get better writers.

That may be hard for him to do, considering his current condition.

this is one of those cautionary tales about casting too well and finding yourself with a franchise that now has a superstar actor working what was intended as a secondary role. it's fricked this franchise since the first movie
and yes i know my post is nothing novel, but that clip is so cringey it needed to be said again

A disabled white male still has more privilege than a woman or person of color. Steven hawking becomes the most famous scientist in the world while Elizabeth Holmes goes to jail

Yeah, almost every time I hear anything about here, I go google those pics and I'm like "yeah well I know what your balloon knot looks like and apparently you are down with taking a shot to the face on camera, so whatever. Nice tits."

Matthew Vaughn directed the first and wrote the script for Days of Future Past. No coincidence it all went to hell once his influence was gone. Apparently he wanted to do 3 films with DOFP being the finale

Mystique is a shapeshifter though...not too hard to recast that role.

Some of y’all really get triggered by gUrLz
This is fine. Kind of a cringey line, yes. But nothing to get upset over
