What is the board's opinion on these two movies. Also...after five years, which film do you think was more deserving of winning Best Picture? No Country For Old Men won the award then but, if it could be done all over again, which film do you think should win it now?

Both are over rated.

No Country more so.

I still think No Country deserved the win. I remember being spellbound by it in the theatre. Great, great movie.

TWBB got slow at parts, but was better on a rewatch.

I enjoyed both movies. Then and now I think that there will be blood is the better movie. The characters have more depth while in no country there is more of a simple good vs evil thing going on. I also just tend to prefer slower paced movies.

Both movies are great. I'd put TWBB slightly ahead but I have no problem with No Country winning best picture.

god it had so many great scenes. That hotel scene when he finds the tracker is so suspenseful every goddamn time.

Both movies are great and even though I think There Will Be Blood is the better movie, I have zero problem with No Country For Old Men taking home the award.

No Country disturbed me like few movies I've seen. I'd give the palm to it.

At the time I agreed with no country. Now my opinion has changed. I can watch there will be blood over and over again. No country not so much

I like No Country; haven't seen TWBB. The ending of No Country still bothers me though.

Chigurh: What's the most you've ever lost on a coin toss?

Proprietor: Sir?

Chigurh: The most. You ever lost. On a coin toss.

Proprietor: I don't know. I couldn't say.
[Chigurh tosses a quarter in the air, catches it, then places it on the counter with his hand over it]

Chigurh: Call it.

Proprietor: Call it?

Chigurh: [sighs] Yes.

Proprietor: Well, we need to know what we're callin' for here.

Chigurh: You need to call it. I can't call it for you. It wouldn't be fair.

Proprietor: I didn't put nothin' up.

Chigurh: Yes, you did. You've been putting it up your whole life. You just didn't know it. You know what date is on this coin?

Proprietor: No.

Chigurh: 1958. It's been traveling 22 years to get here. And now it's here. And it's either heads or tails, and you have to say. Call it.

Proprietor: Well, look...I need to know what I stand to win.

Chigurh: Everything.

Proprietor: ...How's that?

Chigurh: You stand to win everything. Call it.

Proprietor: All right. Heads, then.

[Chigurh removes his hand, revealing the proprietor made the correct call]

Chigurh: [suddenly] Well done! [flicks the quarter to the proprietor] Don't put it in your pocket.

Proprietor: Sir....?

Chigurh: Don't put it in your pocket. It's your lucky quarter.

Proprietor: Well, where do you want me to put it?

Chigurh: Anywhere, not in your pocket. Where it'll get mixed in with the others and become just a coin...which it is.

But I'd still take TWBB - PTA crafts a nice story.
