It still amazes me how the critics on rotten tomatoes are so off on what fans want. This show is a ton of fun to watch and has a different fantasy world than what people are used to. If you're looking for Game of Thrones clone this isn't it.
"I know I didn't read the books, play the games, or even do a basic Wikipedia reading, but this show is choppy and makes little sense!"
It's so goddamn annoying, because people constantly bitch about stuff not being relatable to the source material, and three episodes in, it is basically a perfect retelling of multiple stories in the book, while also showing you Geralt is a hard, hard man who is forced to make choices in this world because it is his destiny.

On the last episode of this season. I’ve enjoyed it. Hunchback got hot real quick

Five episodes in, I think it’s extremely well done. It’s a little slow to start off but it really hits its stride after that.
It’s choppy in place but it’s trying to mesh up a lot of narratives and timelines pretty quickly and it does a pretty good job.
Think it’s very well acted and cast. Cavill is a great Geralt. The show really captures the humor and character of him and the world. The fight scenes are great. The music is great. There are some nice nods to the game.
The show knows what it is and what it’s trying to be and it accomplishes that IMO. It can definitely be for everyone, but it’s not dumbing itself down for the non-gameplayers and book readers. Which is a good thing. Take 5 min and google something if you get confused

Enjoying it immensely.
The nonlinear narrative takes a little adjustment.

Gotta say Calanthe does it for me.
Like when she's in full battle gear, bad fricking arse.

When he punches Jesiker in the stomachs in the second or third episode I spit my beer out.

and she's not a redhead in the books.
I understand that, but the games are what solidified the characters for me. They got them all right but her IMO.

Baws who played the Witcher 3: any of y’all get Wolven Gear vibes from Renfri’s outfit? Resembles the Enhanced/Superior variants IMO. My favorite gear from the game

It took me half an episode to realize they were back in time.
I havent played the games or read the books though. However, im invested in this now and will do tons of research. The lore intrigues me a ton!

In the books, Renfri is basically a nod to the Snow White story. Another short story is sort of based on Beauty and the Beast.

I agree with you on triss, I'm pretty much team triss in the games and her look in the series throws me way off.
That being said, I think her personality is pretty similar to the games still, just the look is so way off it's still off-putting.
But considering they went through the author to set this series up and he has a contentious relationship with cdprojekt red (just got done settling a lawsuit with them), I don't think that there will be much in the way of following the game series outside of subtle nods here and there, like the bathtub scene.

Finished the first season. Critics are idiots.

Yen is a complete sex goddess, Cavill probably pushed so hard for this role because he knew how much pipe he’d get to lay.
As others have said, just disappointed in Triss casting. She was always my number 1 in the games.

Its not a HUGE negative for me and the fact they are keeping this series very close to the books is a huge bonus. I think Henry is doing a fantastic job and I am thoroughly enjoying it.
I just wanted to see a bombshell red head
